They were meant to be;
As children.
they stayed as he and she:
sharing gossips and stories,
playing games ,
making conspiracies.
oh but then
He fell in love with her.
even though she discarded
his presence ;
He fell for her so bad.
Right then it hit him hard
and they had to separate.
not coz of the timings
but for some deeds she did.
Then he was back
to make it even
while she was sorry.
Little did they know,
Their stars would play ahead-
the cupids would enact again
After all they were fated.
Ten years,
Ten long years :
Of waiting and tears;
Of regret and failures.
Not in life
but in friendship,
They had failed.
Separation had come
and the bond faded.
He slept with betrayal and ego,
she resided to bed with longing;
for him.
A decade passed
yet the time did not escape.
They were still in the same crossroad;
Just the regret and love swallowed.
And then they met again-
to accuse and forget.
Or maybe forgive
and grieve.
For the path ahead was one.
Still it was
what they both wanted.
She had a story to tell;
he had some scoldings.
they had to get even though
So he got the chance first,
as paying price is a must.
He wanted to make it right-
for the wet pillow he woke up to after every night;
for the lone moments he spent at evenings;
for the moving on he longed for.
But alas! he forgot,
She also had a tale.
because the night were dry for her too;
she lived alone whole day as well
she yearned for his forgiveness.
As that very day-
both of them lost their best friend
It was a journey,
and they wanted it together.
They said they hated
But oh well!
I'd say it was love.
For when he made her cry,
she made him anxious;
and yet they smiled
reassured by the presence of the other,
Faking their feelings.
They went ahead-
Stumbling once or twice,
But to find their partner
Just by side.
