This scene was a perfect take, as many of us felt.
The lawn was absolutely the right place...underneath the vast sky in its darkness. Every time Suman tried to stop him, stammering along... he went ahead and she had to run to catch up with him. It was sweet to watch from Shravan's side, since he had not a clue about what had brought her there...he was just showing her plenty of attitude.
But the moment she started reciting the tale, the look of concern crossed his face...
And then, Toh Nanu yeh chata hai ki main ruk jaon. Aur tum kya chahti ho?'
This Shravan has not allowed himself to be emotionally manipulated for ten long years...and even now, is just contemplating on what could be done about his father's displeasure with him. He is not in a mood for games, and expects a straightforward answer...
...But all poor Sumo can gather up is a meek Jo Nanu chahte hai.
...She followed it up with a hopeful Tum Ruk Jaoge na'...which was drowned in the uproar of Shravan's outrage.
For a second, Sumo was stunned with the blunt declination, so she came up with a knee jerk reaction of snubbing the snob in him.
He turned his back towards her and started back...and Suman almost went back to him...she took one or two steps...she seemed ready to beg.
But then she must have reflected on her newly acquired wisdom on this cultivated Oxford Graduate and decided she was wasting her time...
...One of the classic scenes. 👏👏👏
