So this is the reason why Hindi television is crap. It's not just because of TRPs and channels injecting idiocy and even writers who lack creativity.
It's also because audience and fans are all too happy to gobble up melodramatic convoluted BS and Kekta-type twists.
Tell me, how does it make sense for Ramnath or Kamini to be the way they are with Suman once Shravan comes back, if they found some letter of love from Shravan and convinces Suman to be a biatch for his better good.
How could they have been sure Shravan wouldn't end up lucky and find Suman in some corner and they could quitely sneak off to talk? Or is it because Suman was told so? Then, it goes back to my first question. why would they be behaving the way they were with Suman? why wouldn't they be more worried regarding Shravan-Suman possibility? Why would Ramnath ask so casually to Suman in the first episode.
And if Suman did it purposefully for him to go to London, then ummm...she is AWARE of the hurt it caused him? Even if she did it with a purpose in mind, she would be aware of the weight of what she did. So how does it still justify her callousness and lack of empathy regarding what happened back then?
Then there's the fact that none of this fits with the flashbacks and that is NOT how the flashbacks or scenes played out. Nor do they fit with how she has been acting regarding Shravan once he came back. Who would do such a delibirate plan and then not realize the gravity of what had happened and behave like it was no big thing. People think somehow that this new possible 'twist' would be the perfect excuse and explanation for the criticisms towards her. HOW? There is no logical explanation.
Yet, many have no issue with this. This is possibly exciting, a great way to move the story forward!
And that's why television is stuck in the limbo and is not moving past it. When a show goes for such stupidity, the same fans who watch Hindi TV will continue watching. The audience that the channel hoped to capture and may have started to capture will reject and leave. The show then becomes like pretty much any other show and loses out on genuine praise and critical acclaim. Because what is left is not much different and not worth mentioning in same sentence as shows from other industries. Thus the overall perception of the industry aside from its regular, same fans remains the same.
Sorry I went OT from your main topic. But I didn't feel like making a new topic.
Anyway, yes agreed on all you said. I am not giving up on show yet, because the engagement could play out a few ways (though chances are very low) But this stupidity of Suman doing it for Shravan's good or being strong-armed into doing it by someone else--there is no salvaging the show or much worth praising if that happens.
