Would like to take the spotlight away from ShraMan & talk about two of my other favourite relationships on the show - Shravan/Pushkar & Suman/Nanaji
Shravan/Pushkar
How refreshing was it to see Pushkar angry with Shravan not because of what he did to Suman, but because he was genuinely worried for Shravan; worried for his wellbeing, worried for all the pain, & anger he hid inside him all these years. The betrayal he felt with Shravan not confiding in him & the helplessness at not being able to do anything came across so effortlessly, without the need for long dramatic dialogues or loud proclamations of love by Pushkar to Shravan. Such a beautiful bond..so pure, so truthful, & so moving.
Suman/Nanaji
Another beautiful bond.. of faith, of trust, of strength. Even though Nanaji knew nothing of the hurt Suman went through nor the gravity of it, he couldn't help but tear up, watching the plight Suman was in. He asked no further, but understood that his little doll was hurt badly. And what a beautiful lesson he taught her, so telling of the way the world functions - our need to compartmentalize will always cause us to put one person in the category of right & another in the category of wrong, but does that classification take away from what we do & who we are? NO. What is most important is us our sense of self-awareness of what we do (as Nanaji pointed out) & that's the way forward. We cannot run our lives based on other people's interpretations of our actions. Suman hurt Shravan, no doubt it was a low blow, but her heart knows that she never wanted to hurt him. But she does know that she did end up hurting him anyway. All these years that she did not contact Shravan may be viewed as wrong by me, or by Shravan, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she did genuinely want to make it up to him. And that is the way forward - she should listen to her heart, & do what her heart tells her to do.
It was heartwarming to see ShraMan have these two people who genuinely care for them, & love them.
P.S The forum's been on fire lately, with everyone stepping up to defend either Shravan or Suman. Both of them have been wrong at various points. However, they do not require justifications or glorifications because they are best left with their flaws, which make them real. What they need is redemption & looking beyond what they did, to what they can do now to make up for the time lost & the damage done.
