I have not seen the whole show Gulal. But at the time it was running, an aunt of mine came to visit and she was watching that show on her cable. So I got Star Plus installed through my cable connection for her, so she can watch stuff she likes that local TV does not offer. (I am from New Zealand).I saw the show from when Neil Bhatt's character Kesar was grown up. So I missed a good chunk of the show. But I just loved his performance. He was superb and so was Maansi Parekh as Gulaal. The whole older woman, younger man story was done in such a tasteful way. The show had such good actors like Manoj Joshi (who I later saw as Chanakya in Ashoka).I loved the different love story of Gulaal and Kesar and how he grew up loving her and thinking of her as his wife. There was a lot of pain there from both sides and like you said it was a masterpiece. Even the background song "Piyu Maare". I didnt understand hardly a word of it at the time, but I just loved that song. You dont need to understand the words to know the intensity of the emotions behind the song. Neil Bhatt? I just loved loved him. His performance was so good. I never saw any other shows he was in since, but my hats off to him for the way he played Kesar. It was a noteworthy performance.Good to see a fellow Gulaal fan. But the first Indian TV show I watched from start to finish was IPKKND, and that is why I consider it my first. But I did see the last 4 months of Gulaal after leap and it was fabulous!

Wow. It's heartening to see Indian TV take such a concept and (taking your word for it) present it in such a beautiful manner. The dynamic between an older woman and younger man for some reason is always cheapened or royally screwed over by Indian tv so to see something like this where the relationship and friendship was so meaningful is beautiful. And 200 episodes means I can do this!

Most people I know started watching the show post the leap. And that is about 5 month worth of episodes so yeah you can definitely do it. Their love story was presented so sensitively & maturely that you'll be amazed. And the cinematography is the best I've seen in years. High production values for that show from start till end, which is rare😆
