You have summed up the positives of this show so beautifully. The lack of excess melodrama, independent well-etched protagonists with a backstory that is interwoven seamlessly into this show makes this show enjoyable to me. It's refreshing and nice to watch a female protagonist like Sumo -- independent, gutsy and one who can fight her own battles and the sorta role reversal (television-wise) when they were younger. It is very rare to find female leads that depart from the usual soapbox cliches.
I enjoyed watching their meeting too. It was funny and cute and angst - all rolled into one. I was expecting some long-drawn out eye-lock and discomfort, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was done with such subtlety, whilst simultaneously adding depth to their characters and relationship with the flashbacks. I loved how with each pol-khol that Dabbu did, Shravan would look up/slightly at her.
