Skeptical Suman Switch - Gone Bad?

Ok, so i was hoping that they after yesterday that maybe there could be some reformation on suman's character for some reason but i'm not sure if im getting the moment mentioned for now. preleap, i used to be skeptical of this but when she fell in love i used to feel content in the changes she felt happy to see in herself. I don't want to say anything negative for suman but the sudden switch of remembering the pool table to only realize that shravan "made" her bought it up. i don't know if this is a continuation in the developing flaws in her characterization or what is going on. perhaps, i was getting my hopes too high but today for some reason it looked like there were so many unexpected or unwanted scenes or dialogues. for example, when shravan mentioned that when did he even mention about not trusting her as a doctor, she seemed to remain flabbergasted and tried to twist it in her medical perspective.

also, while the drunkard shravan was unnecessary as he couldve said the same thing in the sober manner as opposed to showing him as a devdas in paro ki yaad. but one thing im kinda seeing is the sarcasm in her actions. also, it was very easy for her to say she's forgotten the moments so are u telling shravan that she's gotten retro-amnesia of forgetting the moments here? im sorry but as much as i dont want to sound too rude or something, what is going on? vikram says that she's a suljhi hui ladki but ive havent seen much of suljha hua pan. maybe i got my hopes too high on seeing a potential for post leap. 😕

I have stopped thinking to deep in the way the characters are sketched post leap.. actually post lockdown...

So I will give the written time to reveal if anything else happened after that fateful till they met each other on the 2nd day of the leap..

But I was stunned when she mentioned about eloping when she was in 12th... I thought, you go girls.. You have guts to openly brag about the biggest wrong move of your life.. but then Suman being Suman, know how to spin things to get herself out of trouble.. She choose the pool night instead..

And why lie to Vikram about her mate starting the fight? I didnt get that bit.. and how did she remember about that night out of the blue?

These writers are really going off track... I guess nothing us perfect..

Yesterday it was Shravan’s character and today it’s with Suman..

Unless someone else can reframe this for us.. I would be glad to read their views..

@bold She was in the moment with Vikram but Shravan's phone call dragged her back into the conflicted emotions of the past. She tried to cover up with Vikram by telling the first story that came into her head but because Shravan was on the top of her mind subconsciously that was what came out. When she realized that she wasn't happy with herself. Like the first time she unwittingly called herself sumo. But this time the stakes are higher because it's more psychologically dangerous for her to admit the past still affects her since she can't go back to it. Hence her distracted bye to Vikram. The basic point is that she does love Shravan deep down but is trying to deny that to herself. So there will always be some amount of conflict with her going back and forth whenever she gets reminded of her feelings for Shravan. She is using certain defence mechanism to avoid consciously facing unpleasant emotions specifically reaction formation and sublimation.

@bold: where did she say that? On the phones she said the past doesn't matter to me. They both are trying to make it seem as if they are unaffected by the past even though they are clearly not.

She lied because she didn't want to admit it was Shravan that started the fight. Basically she has tried to repress her memories with Shravan so she they don't come to the surface. But she stunned herself by bringing up that moment. By lying she was trying to negate the memories associated with that event. She was trying to push it back down into her unconscious.

They are trying to show that she is subconsciously conflicted. She is conflicted about moving on. On the surface, Shravan's presence makes her want to move on because going backwards is painful. But she can't move forward either because she is denying her heart.

So this is a battle between what the heart really want deep down and what mind is telling her..

Not a nice place to be in... on top of everything else...

It would be good to see how they take this forward and get her out of this situation..

That one phone call stopped her from revealing the past? Could it be because they are planning on revealing Suman’s past in a more dramatic ITV style way..

@bold. Yeah probably at Vikram's birthday party. Otherwise Vikram wouldn't have invited Shravan if he knew.

Another such a MEH episode.... Frankly at this point -- they are getting more childish than they were at 18.

Shravan tries - albeit drunk---? Sumo goes all beserk???! Poor VIK -- :) dude. She is giving you no clear signal, I felt sorry for the guy today.

IDK about the whole Shravan being drunkard but I guess they had to make it like that & the precap definitely looked unhealthy because Suman was just staring silently while Bunty tried to console Shravan. It's just reflective of when Daadu insulted him during the group study & Suman remained silent. ( I will exclude the Shravan begging & Suman making attempts to stop him while Shravan told her not to do so repeatedly). To conclude yesterday, when she said the past didn't matter to her, even though she was irritated, that was just hardcore. Also, the pool table moment before she worded it was just confusing.

So, yes, it was all in all bland episode. 😆Not feeling the leap connection that I wanted to see. I'm only sympathizing with one lead & the other lead's flips has gone down the drain. I feel bad that KK's potential isn't being used properly or something's amiss.
