I agree with you,but for him Family comes first. So even though he was meek and quiet,and even though shashwat and forum used to ridicule him..he will still support them..I mean the character is well portrayed !

Aniket is a very family oriented person Namrata. Whatever happens he'll always stand for his family. Remember how he was even ready to give up his love for Tejal when his mom didn't approve her in the first place??

And also keeping in mind the heat of the situation, where Shaswat is accusing Aniket that all things happened because of him, he would definitely support his own brother rather than the girl whom he know for just a few days
