I think Omkara (like Shlok) was very abusive emotionally. However, both Shlok and Omkara, had past issues and pretended to get lovey-dovey BUT THEY NEVER ACTUALLY DID. Omkara did not want to get intimate Gauri. He thought she was having an affair, and he wanted to hurt her emotionally (like she hurt him by breaking his trust)

See if Gauri (and Astha) were actually as bad as say Svetlana, then the audience would have been on the side of Shlok and Om.

But the audience knew that Gauri is blameless.

I have seen IB from the beginning, so I've seen Omkara's journey. He was a really good character in IB. Despite having a really shitty childhood and parents like Tej and Jahnvi, he was the best of the brothers.

Its only when 4-5 people cheated him one after the other, that he lost his mind and became the dark DBO!Omkara.

I do not justify Omkara's actions, and you know Kala, how much I criticized him in DBO and even in IB after merger sometimes.

But whatever were his faults, he did not do anything criminal.

I'll give Omkara points because:

1. He had a bad childhood. Dhruv had an okay childhood.

2. Omkara was hurt and betrayed by people multiple times. He only broke finally and became too dark when Gauri betrayed him (in his head).

But Dhruv was betrayed only once, by Jahnvi.

3. Omkara was abusive emotionally and sometimes manhandling too.

But what Dhruv did was criminal.

So, between the two Omkara >>>>>>> Dhruv.

However, I do feel Gauri should not have forgiven Om (and Astha should not have forgiven Shlok), but IB (and EBP) were romantic family dramas, so they made the FLs mahaan. What to do?

Thanks Ananya for explaining so well. Even I think shlok was a MCP initially and harassed her so badly and in the end he suffered a lot by losing his mother and Astha having memory loss. So I think he paid for his sins.

But IB was so badly written omkara-gauri didn't even have proper conversation for 1 year after they patched up.

Exactly Kala. IB toh was over for Rikara fans after Bareilly. We just have to assume that they lived happily ever after.

The only thing I liked was that when Tej insulted Gauri during that Vanvaas track, Om left the house with her, because he won't stay in the house where his wife was insulted.

But anyways, the makers didn't bother with Rikara and other characters after Bareilly, so nothing makes sense. 🤪

One thing l always liked about Omkara was that he stood up for his mother and protected her from his father

Dhruv could never take a stand for his mother, against PK.

I don't like men who cannot protect and respect their mothers.

Even shlok blindly believed his father and treated his mother badly. Avinash received severe backlash and he had to quit twitter.

But they had a very emotional reunion which was very touching. Geetanjali was too good.

In EBSS before the story cud start they introduced revamp, so we don't know what they had planned.
