Is it really Saba Mumtaz? If it is then I pledge to stay away from her stories from here on. If I call the writing atrocious, I will be too kind!!
Dismal though the track is, this criticism is not based solely on the current track, or due to the missing hero. There will always be tracks that will appeal to the audience & those that won't find many takers but this is beyond just frustration with the track.
The decay started long back, with gaping holes in the story, poor characterization & sheer disregard to any sort of detail, but with each episode the show has been hitting a new low.
The completely disjointed story, beyond banal dialogues & thoroughly pedestrian handling of the script makes it hard for me to believe that an experienced person is behind this show.
Suspending disbelief is all very well, the daily soap audience is a very forgiving one, but even the most ardent fans have their limits & the makers of EBI have crossed those many times over.
If this is BBC's 1st venture into GEC primetime, then I would respectfully suggest they try their luck with street theatre in the villages instead.
It's a shame that the actors have to go through the embarrassment & the frustration of being associated with such a poor product.
Viraf, I do like you, but sorry mate, I can't hang in there, not even if my life depended on it.
