Or else adopted/illegitimate children are shown as martyrs/Cinderalla bearing all the abuse and doing all the work at home. An exception would be Sayyam in Suhani si ek Ladki. He's initially pumped up for revenge because the FL abandoned him as a baby at an orphanage since he was the product of a r*pe. Initially he's regarded as evil while his mother's children from her first marriage were hailed as exemplary children since they had her precious "parvarish". However it is shown later that they're both up to no good while Sayyam is miles better than them.
