I am sure Indian Television will evolve - Aham Sharma
Aham Sharma who has been around TV and films for a number of years finally found success with Star Plus Mahabharat as Karan. Now he is all set to do one more youth show called Dosti..Yariyaan..Manmarzian for the same channel. He is also now doing another film on the 1962 Indo China war in NEFA (Arunachal Pradesh).
Talking about his character in the above Siddharth Tiwari production called Arjun, he says ,"I can't reveal much, except that he has come to this place with a mission. There are so many shades to his character sometimes he is funny at other wile mysterious. So it is interesting as an actor to emote varies expression."
The delayed success seem to have made Aham who had debuted with NDTV Imagine's Chand Ke Paar Chalo way back in 2008 a bit bitter, we could gauge this when he spoke, " Indians fans don't bother about TV actors much. I still remember when we had gone to Indonesia for Mahabharat event; the locale went out of their way to welcome us. The pilot came out of the cockpit to wish us. The people on the rally were just touching us to see if we were live. And I could not react as we in character what more can I ask? "
He later however then justifies the less response small screen actor's get to film biggies by saying, "This is bound to happen for film star's get a much bigger platform then TV actors." When asked to what went wrong with his films (Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai and Karle Pyaar Karle)? , "We had done a fairly decent job, yet they did not rock. It is very difficult to pin point one reason, there could be several. It is not enough to make a film, you need to properly promote it and also ensure a big enough release which is no mean task. But I am confident that sooner or later hard work always pays off. Look at Raj Kumar Rao, he is a such a talented actor and he is getting good work right !"
Returning back to TV, he says, "I am sure it will evolve. Look at western small screen it is bigger than film as they have great production value and star caste. India should return to the weekly format like before like DD."
Success also has a flip side, and Ahem has to face the brunt. Some fan has leaked his cell number on social media. "I keep getting calls" says the actor" and so he plans to change the number in a while
