Dilip Kumar to play SRK's dad
That's the buzz about 'Dulha Mil Gaya' which also has cricket great Brian Lara playing a cameo

IT'S well known that superstar Shah Rukh Khan is very fond of Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Bano. In fact, many feel SRK's acting is inspired by the legendary thespian's style. SRK himself had once mentioned that his mother always felt he looked like Dilip. And if that was not enough, Saira Bano herself went on record to say that if she and 'sahib' ever had a son, he would look exactly like Shah Rukh. Now it looks like the time has come to translate those feelings onto the silver screen. According to sources, the producers of 'Dulha Mil Gaya' — starring Shah Rukh, Sushmita Sen, Fardeen Khan, newcomer Ishita, Anuj Saxena and Viveck Vaswani — have approached the couple to play SRK's parents. There's more — cricket star Brian Lara has also agreed to do a cameo in the film. And since most of the film is being shot in the West Indies (except for SRK, the entire unit is in Trinidad and Tobago right now), Lara has absolutely no issues about being available. Another interesting bit of news is that Kajol's mom, Tanuja, also has a pivotal role in the film. The Ajay Devgan-SRK rivalry doesn't seem to have affected the mom-in-law as yet.

Lara, SRK to team up in 'Dulha Mil Gaya'?
PORT-OF-SPAIN: Former West Indies cricket captain Brian Lara and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan are likely to team up for special appearances in a $2 million movie titled 'Dulha Mil Gaya' which has commenced shooting here.
Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan are already in the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago for the next three weeks for the film.
'Dulha Mil Gaya' is being produced by Anuj Saxena's Maverick Productions and Vivek Vaswani's Insight Productions and is written and directed by Mudassar Aziz.
Shah Rukh's office has confirmed that he is doing a special appearance in the film.
As for Lara, a spokesman for the production said, "The film is a romantic comedy and the producers are currently negotiating with Brian Lara for a special guest appearance."
The original idea was to film the movie and have it premiered in time for World Cricket Cup, which has just concluded in the nine Caribbean islands. Filming has been done at the Gulf City lowland Malls and Pigeon Point in Tobago. Several scenes in Trinidad are on the agenda for filming.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Lara will serve as Trinidad and Tobago's sports ambassador, pending a new high-profile position.
Roger Boynes, minister of sports and youth affairs, told a media conference that the Trinidad and Tobago cabinet, in recognition of Lara's contribution to this country and the international scene, had deliberated on it.
"And within a short period of time an announcement will be made on what the cabinet decided," he said.
"Needless to say, we will be hosting a commemorative function and there are other aspects also," Boynes said.
There is wide speculation that Prime Minister Patrick Manning might offer Lara a senior political post. Or, he might be made minister of sports to replace the incumbent.
