#3. You are beautiful

"Sir this Sahani, I tell you he's has such a thirst for money! I'm sure he will give into our bid. I'm sure we will get him to talking..."

Shaurya listened intently as Divya went on and on... Seated casually in Awaz news channel's office, the duo kept discussing another high profile case that came their way. It was 11AM, the office was already abuzz, employees rushing here and there on part of their duty. Shaurya liked to sit in the large hall while discussing things like this. This was a part of his tactics to avoid eavesdropping, because he had always felt that much noise was needed to drain out their voice.

Diya went on talking, making cute faces as she imitated the man in context. Shaurya felt she was the most beautiful girl on the planet right then.

"You're beautiful..."

He blurted out without thinking.

"Huh? Did you say...?"

Diya blinked in confusion causing Shaurya to jerk out of his daydream.

"uh... um..."

"Sir?"

"I.. I was looking at her."

Shaurya pointed at one of his employees who was standing across the hall.

"You were-" Diya eyed the girl he pointed to, "looking at her?"

"Yea... Yea... She's um.. beautiful. Isnt she?"

"Really sir!! Aap usko dekh rahe the? usko..."

Diya turned around to face Shaurya again pointing an accusing finger at him.

"uh-"

"You were actually checking her out while I talked? I thought you- Forget it! Why am I asking!!"

"Diya, I..."

"I will forward the written details of this case soon to you sir... excuse me!"

And Diya rushed from the spot in a huff, leaving a boggled Shaurya behind who couldn't help but smile wondering if all that was, what you call jealousy.

Another awesome drabble, Pree 👍🏼

I was just picturing the scenes exactly the way you have written - Diya going on passionately about her new scoop while Shaurya relaxed and leaned back in his chair watching her with a small smile before blurting out those "unfortunate" words 😆 and then Diya's outrage and Shaurya trying to cover up the situation...just perfect 👏
