Zee TV's 'Doli Armaanon Ki' is all set to go through a transition that will take the story line ahead post a generation leap. In a dramatic climax of the pre-leap story, we saw Vibhav Roy and Mohit Malik - playing two of the lead characters in the show, Ishaan and Samrat - breathing their last. Hence, the two will not be seen in the post leap track of the show that is going on-air from June 26th.
Why these actors had to quit, why Neha Marda will not be seen post leap, who all will be the part of the new cast and what to expect from this new track starting today, we bring you the inside story of the show.
Mohit Malik, who was all set to play a younger role of his onscreen son Shaurya, apart from the devious Samrat in the post story leap, has apparently been kicked out of the show. As per the sources, Mohit breached his contract with Zee as his signed Color's Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa' quite before. As a result, his onscreen character Samrat had to go through an emotional phase, transform himself into the good-hearted man, commit suicide and say goodbye to the show. A salute to the writers! Be it for his waggish Hinglish vocabulary, brilliant expressions or exceptional acting skills, we have to admit that Mohit has been one of the rare villains on TV who we loved to love
While earlier, there were reports of Neha Marda quitting the show for not being allowed to avail her monthly offs, sources have now cited that Neha was asked to play Mohit Malik's (aka Samrat Singh Rathore) mother after the show successfully takes the 15-year leap. She said she was not okay with having a grown-up child on the show.
"With the show set to take a 15-year leap, I wasn't willing to continue. I can't play mother to a 28-year-old guy. We have parted ways amicably and I wish the show the best," said Neha in a statement.
Vibhav Roy, who played the character Ishaan opposite Urmi, also had to bid a goodbye to the show. Reasons being he doesn't look old enough to be the father of a 28-year-old kid
As Neha Marda quits the show, Manasi Salvi will now be playing the role of Urmi. Manasi has earlier appeared in TV series like Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke', and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara'.
The TV channel released the new poster of the show announcing Manasi as new Urmi.
To play the role of grown-up Shaurya and as a substitute for Mohit Malik, Kunal Karan Kapoor, has been roped in for the show. Kunal's first look as Shaurya will be revealed today as the new track goes on-air
