Hi, I just started watching this show. Seems interesting. Can someone please post a brief story update until now. I cant really follow a few things well like, If Surya is a step son to old woman or why does Preeti's dad put up with that evil female at home ?

Hi,

Well, story is, Preeti gets married to Suryakamal to fulfil the wishes of her terminally ill mother, Snehlata.

Now, on the same day that Suryakamal comes to see her, there's another guy who comes, Rishi. Preeti prefers Rishi because he's like the filmi heroes she's alwsys dreamed of. So she's not happy with her mother's decsion, but complies anyway.

Snehlata sees the inner beauty of Suryakamal, his principles and values, and knows that Preeti and Suryakamal will make a beautiful couple - do hanson ka jodaa 😳

Preeti's chachi, Saroj, gets her own daughter, Sumi, married to Rishi. Saroj is very happy that her daughter got the better match, the flamboyant, rich guy .. as opposed to the simple, poor and ordinary-looking Suryakmal.

Preeti's maayka

That "evil female at home" is Saroj, Preeti's dad's younger brother's wife. Hence, Preeti's chachi. Preeti's dad can't exactly kick her out, can he? And he's just really nice. All the "really nice" people of the serial bear all taunts and mean words silently and do not retort. It may look stupid but in my opinion, goodness will ultimately melt the stoniest of hearts.. 😊

Ever since Snehlata died - a few episodes ago - Saroj has become the maalkin of the house and the power has gotten to her head and that's why she's being so evil.

By the way, Preeti also has a brother, Vinay, married to Radhika.

Suryakamal's family

Yes, the evil old lady is Suryakamal's step mother and prefers her own children to him. He also has a step brother by the name of Neeraj, and a step sister called Sajni. Neeraj is married to Ritu. Both Neeraj and Ritu are only after Suryakamal's money and Ritu is always doing mean things to lower Preeti in her mother-in-law's eyes. She is very jealous of Preeti because unlike Preeti, her own husband is rarely at home as he studies in Delhi. Sajni, on the other hand, is very sweet and loves her Suryakamal bhaiyya to bits.

Suryakamal does everything to fulfil his duties towards his family, despite their frequent meanness. His logic - apnon se kya shikaayat?

Rishi Raichand

Rishi, married to Preeti's cousin, Sumi, turns out to be a lazy drunkyard who wants to make money by easy means. Relationships don't seem to mean anything to him, and he frequently denigrates his wife and beats her. Initially he was this romantic guy.. but now, he's just disgusting 🤢

When Preeti sees him slapping Sumi, she realises how lucky she is to have Suryakamal who gives her so much respect.
