Raghu chuckled on the other side... and hit his forehead lightly with his phone..
he re-dialed her number after a minute...
she picked the call but didn't say anything...

Raghu reached market around 7:00 as he got stuck in traffic...
but the moment he reached at the entrance of market.. next sight wasn't quite pleasant..
that place was full of local police and guards...
2-3 fire extinguisher teams were there..
Raghu's heart sank with the sight.. he immediately parked his bike at a random place he found in hurry and rushed towards the entrance..
but whole place was over crowded and police guards were pushing people outside..
just by looking at the condition of that place no one could say that it was a nice market and one of the best places for hangout..
Raghu once again tried to reach to entrance.. but police guard pushed him back..
"you can't go inside.. can't you understand this one simple thing.."
guards tried to do their best to keep people away from entrance and the shops which were on fire..
the moment he heard people talking about the incident happened an hour back.. his heart almost stopped...
all he could understand was there was some political party rally happened in this area..
but due to some reason a guy committed suicide in front of every body.. people got violent and there was a big fight...
whole market got ruined in one hour..
police arrested some of those people.. but this place is still not safe...
in order to arrest those people police needed to do some firing also..
no one knows if all localides are safe or not...
"Antara was in market at that time." Rgahu thought..
he checked his phone.. there were 5 missed calls from her number..
earlier he didn't pick his phone while riding his bike because he thought she will shout on him for being late.. as he was watching tv and forgot about coming here...
she also dropped a message..
"you please don't come to market.. things are not good here.. i'll try to be home asap"...
where is she...?? he thought.. an unknown fear and sweat was clearly visible on his face...
he dialed her number but it didn't get connected..
he called Antara's friend from one of their neighbors.. and asked to check and confirm if Antara reached home..
she asked him to hold for a minute and went to check their place..
Raghu, it's locked from outside.. She is not home yet..

he got worried and again tried to break into security..
"can't you understand.. stay here.." one police constable shouted on him..
"and why are you not trying to understand.. my wife is trapped in there.. i need to go.." Raghu tried to move...suddenly all guards and police constables started pushing everybody away from the market entrance.. some of them who were only audience got scattered or left the place..
Raghu was lost and worried for antara.. he tried to call her many times.. but her number was coming as switched off.. and then he recalled that she told him her phone battery was almost dead...
he tried his best to break-in the security.. but he was helpless.. he sat somewhere on road.. holding his head in his hands...
"where r u Antara.." he closed his eyes.. a lone tear escaped from his eye...
he came back from his trance the moment he heard people crying and screaming...
he got up and rushed towards them.. Constables were bringing some dead bodies out..
his heart sank with the sight and he took two steps back...
he saw guards bringing people out they were badly injured..and heard that many local shops in one building were burnt...
the moment guards and police constables moved aside to give space to other guards to bring injured people outside Raghu finally broke into the security..
and some more guys came after him to find their relatives...

it's been almost 30-45 minutes.. Raghu was looking for Antara.. he has looked into many shops, parking and basements areas.. but he couldn't find her anywhere..
he was rushing here and there like a mad.. suddenly his eyes caught something and got widened with shock.. he felt a thump in his heart...
he ran towards what he saw.. two constables were carrying an injured lady to the ambulance..
he had no energy left in him but still he ran towards them... he did remember that shine in his wife's eyes when she wore that dupatta she herself did all embroidery on..
she was so happy when she wore that in morning and showed to him more than 10 times...
he tried to get a hold of her and in process he fell down taking that lady in his arms..
he almost collapsed on road sitting on his knees...both constables shouted on him for his act..
he was panting.. but he sighed seeing that she wasn't Antara.. but he was sure it was her dupatta...
he immediately got up and asked constable that where did they find this lady..
he turned toward other constable and tried to speak to that lady..
w-where...is she...? she"she gave you this,.. where is she...?
before she could reply two compounder came with a stretcher and took her...
she could only indicate towards a building of 4 floors..
Raghu immediately rushed towards the building..one constable tried to hold him..
m-my wife is trapped in there...
now..no one is inside there... everyone who was alive there has been rescued from that building..
you can go there and check if your wife is there or not..
once all bodies will be pulled out.. we will inform all.. you can come for identity check..
tears rolled down from Raghu's eyes.. he never felt so helpless before...
he pleaded in front of the constable and he finally let him go inside the building..
Raghu went to each and every floor.. calling out her name...he looked for her everywhere but couldn't get a trace of her..
he fell on his knees and his his face in his palms.. he was cursing himself for not being able to find her..
suddenly his phone buzzed.. he immediately picked the call thinking of it may be from his neighbor [Antara's friend he called before]..but it was his mom from Pune..
Raghu.. beta.. i just heard a news of some rally and violence happened in Bangalore..
beta.. when i talked to Antara she was in some market..are you both at home?
when she didn't hear anything from him.. she got worried..

Raghu did cut the call as he got a ray of hope from his parents.
he first rushed towards the people who got rescued by guards...
he checked each and every lady they found.. Antara wasn't there..
he didn't know whether he should feel relieved or more tensed...
he wasn't ready to believe so he couldn't dare to go and check dead bodies they found..
he recalled that lady indicated towards this building and she also had her dupatta..
so she met Antara for sure.. but she wasn't there.. Raghu looked here and there and asked a few people if there was a telephone booth near by..
they indicated towards a small street but suggested him to not to go there.. he rushed towards the street calling her name on top of his lungs..
Antaraaa!!!!!! he screamed her name...
he saw that this place was very congested and even in normal environment people won't be able to walk through this street..
he suddenly gained some more energy in him as he saw a 6 ft long red painted box on road..
it was broken too...
he went near the booth and looked around the place.. soon his eyes caught a sight of something he knew it belonged to his loving wife..
he felt a thump in his heart the moment he saw that file.. he remembered that last night when he was teasing her she was working on this file... a lone tear escaped from his eye...
he called her name again n again..just a few meters away from that place he found her bag covered in mud..she was here when this happened...he sat down and picked her bag..
he knew that no one has checked this place so she might be here.. he got up and walked around in a small shop which could be used as a shelter to hide..
but he didn't find her there..
the moment he came out from that shop..his eyes got widened with shock.. his heart bled and tears rolled down on his cheeks...
he took a step back when he felt that he stepped on something... something that made him fall on his knees down...
it was her.. he stepped on her hand..
he saw a guard outside the street and screamed for help.. and he came running towards them..
he was throwing the heavy marbles away from her.. that guard helped him to pull Antara out...
his heart wrenched seeing her pale face...she was covered in dirt and mud.. he moved her strands from her forehead.. tears flowing from his eyes fell down on her face..he pulled her in his embrace and cried...
guard put his hand on his shoulder and asked him to calm down..he checked her nerve..
she is alive but needs medical care immediately..don't know for how long she was here..
Raghu nodded in yes.. and picked her in his arms.. taking her bag and file along him he came towards the ambulance..
since her condition was critical, doctor suggested him to get her admitted in hospital...and he did that immediately..
raghu called two of his friends from office..one of them took his bike from market and another friend took them to hospital..
Raghu thanked them both and asked them to leave as it was late and he was going to stay in hospital..
they gave him a few things he might require and left saying to call them if anything needed..
he nodded in yes.. and came back to Antara's ward.. sister told him that her condition is not good.. she has got lot of internal injuries.. they are trying their best but right now they can't say anything..
Raghu was being restless as Antara was unconscious..he called his dad to let him know that he has found her and they are in hospital..
his dad told him that they are at the airport and will reach Bangalore soon..

Raghu sitting beside Antara's bed in her ward.. she had bandages all over her body.. and had got a deep cut near her waistline... due to heavy bleeding nurse needed to change her bandage in every 2-3 hours..
he was just sitting there holding her hand in his.. "it's all my fault.. i should have reached there on time.."

he brought her hand close to his heart.. and leaning over her face he placed a soft kiss on her forehead..
he moved back and sat beside her... but he could not take his eyes off of her face... her face has turned pale.. she had bruises on her face..still she looked him the most beautiful girl he knew..
he moved those few strands away that came on her face..and caressed her face gently..
he had so much to say.. so much to tell her..and to ask.. but he wasn't able to utter a single word..
he did remember those people crying out there when guards brought those dead bodies.. his heart bled remembering all that..he was grateful that she was with him... his heart sank thinking of what would have happened if he would have not found her...
he laid beside her holding her hand closed to his heart...he remembered what he told to his mom.. he kissed her knuckles and a lone tear dropped from his eye..
it was true.. and i am realizing it now.. at this moment. when i thought that i had almost lost you...
he himself was not able to believe what he confessed... but it was right.. i love you...he was restless for her condition.. but after realizing this one thing he felt a lot relaxed...
i know you will be just fine.. all you want is to trouble me.. and make me worried for yourself...but once you will be fine.. i will make you pay for all the trouble you caused..
now you stop playing all these pranks on me.. and wake up already.. hmmm?
saying that he kissed in her hair and leaned back...
