Can I say, I was actually missing DM in some twisted way, and I am happy to see her in the center stage again? Too much focus on Satya over the past few days had started making me miss DM, and she's back today. Of course, I hate her, but then I consider her more a part of this story than Satya. Satya is only a hurdle in Rantara's love story, while DM comes with a storm brewed by herself. She is cunning, and a master manipulator. Satya thinks he can manipulate anyone, but today's episode proved that he is nothing in front of his mother.
One thing I would like to point out: It turns out that DM knows about Satya's infatuation to Antara, even though it is not very clear as to how she knew that. I guess, she is really more intelligent than we give her credit for. She's like the Big Boss, who sees and knows everything that seems to go around in the house, and the basti. And, I guess, she does know Raghu and her own son quite well. She knows how Satya would leave no stone unturned to snatch anything that might give Raghu any happiness. How else would she know that Satya made that call in her name and ordered demolition of the basti? And when she knows of it, she manipulates that situation further to her favour... She uses it to raise her status further in the eyes of Raghu, and her subjects in the basti. However, in doing so, she has probably distanced herself from her beloved son, and I guess she realizes it well. I wonder what she plans to do about that, and how? Will she tell him that all she has been doing so far has been for him, and make him see light? Will Satya believe her when she does? Or will she be too late? I am guessing she'll be too late by the time. Satya is the biggest catalyst in the downfall of DM, and I feel that is the significance of Satya in this story. Marriage or not, Satya can't do much in the Rantara love story, as Raghu and Antara are too deeply in love with each other, that nothing he does will change that. Raghu and Antara will always be each other's. Even in separation, they'll pine only for each other. I feel Satya is here more for DM than for Rantara. He is only a pawn in destiny's game, and just a hurdle in Rantara's journey. It's the family that will be the biggest obstacle... For Raghu, it's the choice between DM & Antara, which will be solved once DM's true colours are out... for Antara, the choice is more difficult... For her, at one point is the man she has given her heart, body and soul to, versus the man who is (albeit indirectly) responsible for her father's death. When she makes that decision, again, there might come a choice between her family, and the love of her life. I can't even imagine what I'd do in her place!
What are the implications about DM knowing about Satya's interest in Antara? She loves her son for sure, and I don't think she likes the idea of her son liking Antara, knowing that A is totally in love with R. She is a mother after all, and why would she want her son to marry a girl who would never be his? But you can never underestimate the desperation of a mother who craves for her son's love and attention... I can totally see the mother in her being forced into accepting Antara as her daughter in law. Which I won't like for sure.🤢 I don't see how Antara will agree to marry Satya after all that has transpired between them. She has been portrayed as a strong-willed, principled girl who doesn't take impulsive decisions. I hope Antara doesn't marry anyone and just walks out, because that is the only thing that makes sense to me, and stays true to her character.
DM's 'love' for Raghu! I can only pray that no one gets loved this way, if this is also called love. It is the deadliest of poisons under a beautiful camouflage of motherly love. By accepting what Raghu holds dearest to his heart, DM has raised herself to new heights in Raghu's heart. But then, the higher she goes, deeper will she fall, when the time comes. And that fall is going to be fatal for her.
Ah, Rantara hug! There's something so very magical about their hugs. And it was quite long too, this time. 😳 These small Rantara moments are what keep me going in spite of Satya, and to think that we might not get these cute moments for a long time, is heart rending. ðŸ˜
However, I must confess that this story keeps me on the edge of my seat, and no Indian show has done that for me before. It is so very intriguing and mind-boggling.I won't really be able to fully quit the show, no matter what. I might shift to watching online so I can skip the scenes I don't want to watch, but I am sure I'll keep coming back to this story.
However I am not happy with the way it is being presented right now... I feel like I am on a superfast express train. Too much focus on Sattu and his myriad eccentricities, Antara's family just accepting Raghu right away... There wasn't even a surprise/shocked reaction from them... they all were acting as if everything was normal! Also, I would have loved to see Antara and Raghu talking about her family before proceeding to the whole shaadi business. One thing I had always taken pride in about Rantara is how they are very open with each other... They have always discussed their issues through heart to heart talks, unlike other TV couples I've seen. But after confession, they seem to have lost their ability to converse properly. R not telling her about Sattu's real nature for long, A not discussing her family with R anymore.. doesn't seem quite them... I miss their talks... as much as I like romance, I really want to see them opening up to each other like before.
I must confess that the basic plot is very intriguing,to the the point that I rack my brains every day thinking about the story and wondering where it's leading to, which is saying something for an Indian show... I'd anyday prefer a fast pacedshow that intrigues and confuses me, than a show that puts me to sleep with its endless drags and despite all the flaws, I love the show... But I am not sure how long I can take the creepo! The thing is, they seem to be in a rush to move the story to the separation track... because that is where the real story starts. What we have seen so far is merely a prologue to the real story. The real story starts from the point when Antara walks away from Raghu after knowing the truth about her father's death, regardless of whether she marries S or not. They need to take the story to Kashmir again, as they have already shot the portions there... they can't afford to delay it, lest it look very outdated. Ayaz and Nikita already look quite different from how they looked in the beginning of the show. They can't also afford to let go of those parts as that will cost them dearly financially... It's not easy to shoot in Kashmir... there are lots of financial as well as security concerns involved.
The only thing that consoles me is that Satya wasn't part of the cast when Kashmir scenes were shot, and I expect those portions will come on air pretty soon. So that must mean a pack up of Satya by that time. Satya has been developed as a purely loathsome character, beyond any redemption, and I can't wait for him to be out of the picture. He is truly unbearable. My main opposition about the marriage track is that it would mean more screen space to Sattu, which I absolutely can't bear... I already have started skipping his scenes.🤢
