It's not just that I feel. For once , contrary to what most people think of Nikita\Antara here , I think she is an absolute breath of fresh air. Thank the lord for some reason that she is not a overtly portrayed OTT antiques doing " simple girl next door" who does things that the director thinks are cute or bachpaana that apparently simple girls do but it actually looks like stupidity. I have had it with such female leads , lol. Somehow , Anatara is nothing like that . Her saadhgee is in the absolute limited and right proportions and is very natural , nothing is OTT. Even her reaction in the samosa thing it was nothing overtly done or stupid but trying too hard to be cute .It was maintained in the right amounts. I remember a scene from a female lead in a star one show where the girl is talking to a cup and calling it "Cup Ji" . It was not cute at all and a 10 minute scene was wasted on the girl and cup interaction. I am so glad that Antara is absolutely none of those things. It's a great relief actually. Also in their arguments , I love the fact that unlike other heroines she is not fainting or being scared after the hero warns her or pins her against the wall. She calmly pushes him , adjusts her bangles and walks off without making a fuss or ramble or whining , unlike Khushi for example , who fainted after the same thing happened to her. For me Antara is not like the typical Indian heroine portrayals. She has the right amount of simplicity and the right amount of strength. I think the strength and the defense portrayed in her character is just right . She doesn't seem scared for herself around people or of people but it is not overtly done either . For once , I actually like a female lead after a long time. Lol :) I think that is a major difference from other Hindi serials.
