"arey wooo to raghubhai hain na?!!" a man said to his companion looking at the other corner of the jail. "haan vey?!! Par raghubhai jail mein... mujhe to apni akhon pe yakeen nahin ho raha hain.." His companion said. Both of the prisoner's eyes were fixed on the corner of the wall where the most notorious and dangerous gangster of the Mumbai was seating, leaning on the wall closing his eyes. he looked calm and composed but they were not unknown to the fact that the silence might be the indication of a storm. Machmach rushed near the bar of the locker. "bhai!!..." he called him in frustrated voice. raghu's feature jerked up and he opened his eyes. "machmach.." he told and stood up. He came near the bars. "bhai.. tu thik hain na?!! inn kutto ne kuch kiya to naii??!!" machmach asked worriedly. "arey naii re..." raghu let out his usual grin. "abhito bas bhok keg aye hain... baad mein nochna start karengey sayad..." he said coolly. "bhai yaar.. tu bh na... arey woo log tujhe.." machmach couldn't finish his words and raghu said again. "pata hain... aur kya karengey?... wohich unki purani dawayi... third degree... arey yaar hajam ho gaya hain mere ko... par ek baat bheje mein naii ghus re la hain... inn kutto ko humari khabar kisne di..." raghu said in confused tone. "bhai woo..." machmach hesitated. Raghu sensed his unease behavior. "eee kya huya?!! kuch kahene ja raha tha naa tu??" raghu asked. "naii bhai jane de..." machmach sighed. "naiii... tere thobre se pata chalta hain baat serious hain... dekh jyada pet mein daba ne ki try mat kar... acidity ho jayega.." raghu said mocking a laugh. "bhai... tu na ekdum..." machmach became a slight irritated. "cha lab bata bhi de.." raghu asked. "bhai wooo... bhai... Wooo uss habildar ghorwole ke sath apun bahar ja ke gap maar raha tha... teen peg bubbly aunty maar te hi sab ugal diya ... wooo..." Macgmach stopped again. "arey aise speed breaker ki tarah ruk kyun raha hain?... jaldi se engine charge kar aur ek baar mein bata de..." raghu said in slight irritation. "woo usne kahan ki... aaj subah ek larki ayi thi... ussi ne humari bandra mein hone ki khabar di thi.." macgmach said slowly. "larki?!!" raghu uttered slowly. Suddenly a thought raised in mind. two pairs of fearful hazels flashed in her mind. the pair of confused hazels he saw in morning through that open window. "machmach kaun thi woo larki?!... naam kya hain uska?!!" he asked in clod voice. machmach looked away. "MACHMACH MUJHE USKA NAAM BATA ABHI..." his cold dangerous tone came out. "bhai wooo..." mach mach looked at his hard questioning eyes. "ANTARA THI..." he said at last with anticipation. raghu's eyes froze on machmach's face. he couldn't even react. His wide eyes was trying to digest the words. "MISSCALL!!.." he said after a long pause with slow stumbled voice. raghu moved his gaze sidewise and gulped. Machmach understood from his expression that how much hurt he was. That's why he didn't wanted to say those words to him. suddenly raghu snapped back to machmach with a gasp. "machmach tu jaldi se basti wapas jaa... ABHIII!!!" he said loudly. "bhai tu kya kahe raha hain?!! tere ko aisi halat mein chorke aoun kidhar bhi naii jayega..." Machmach said. "arey kuch naii huya... thik hain apun... paheli baar jail ki hawa naii kha raha hoon... Par tu abhi ke abhi basti ke liye aur jate hi antara aur uncle aunty pe nazar garaye rakhna..." he said. "bhai mere ko kuch samajh naii aa raha hain... tu antara pe nazar rakhne ko kyun kahe raha hain?!!" MM asked in confusion. "arey tere dimag ke battery pe ccharger laga!!... tujhe kya lagta hain... sirf ghorwole ko bubbly aunty pila ke tu us ski pet se sab nikal sakta hain... arey apun sau take ki bazi maar ke kahe sakta hain ki mai ko abtak zaroor pata lag gaya hoga ki iss sab ke piche misscall ka hath hain... aur tu jaan ta hain ki mai ko ye sab pata lag gaya too woo misscall ko asani se naii chorne wale... iss liye kahe raha hoon tu jaa aur jab taka pun yahan se bahar na ayeeinn.. tu misscall pe nazar banaye rakhna... samjha?!! Ab boot ban ke khara kyun hain.. mere ko chabi ghumake chalu karna parega kya?!!" raghu said looking at machmach's aww stuck face.
"bhai!!..." machmach said in startled voice, "kya hain tu yaar?!! Huya kya hain tujhe?!! arey arrest karwa diya uss ueri ne tujhe?!! aur fir bhi tujhe uski fikar hain... apni naii?!!" he was so amused and as well as startled. "tu naii samjhega yaar..." raghu said mocking a laugh, "apun jaan ta hain ussey... bahut achi tarah se... yeri hain... dimag mein kuch baith liya too idhar udhar kahi ke barein mein naaii sochti..." his eyes suddenly became pleasant saying those words. Machmach saw the gleam in his eyes. "bhai yaar dar lagta hain mere ko tere liye... teri yee chahat ye dewangi naa ekdin maar dalega tujhe... arey ussey pata tak naii ki tu idhar mar raha hain uske liye.. aur tu hain ki..." he finished with a chuckle. "tu uski tension mat le... aur jaisa kahan waisa kar..." raghu said with a small smirk. "ookk bhai chalta hoon..." MM sid and went. Raghu ran down his hands thorugh his hairs in frustration. "antara!! Ye kya kar diya tune..." he said slowly in worried voice.
"antara?! what happened?!! You came back quickly today?!!" saroj said after opening the door. Antara came inside in slow pace. "hey what happened?!!" saroj asked in confusion looking at her lost face. antara kept her bag on the couch unconsciously. She was thinking about her steps. Should she tell everything to mumy or not?! She was thinking hard. Saroj was about to close the door when suddenly two strong hand caught the wooden frames and pushed hard inside. Saroj's body bounced back in huge push. Antara looked back listening to saroj's loud voice and caught her bouncing body. "mummy!!" she gasped. In front of their eyes, jagga and his two goons came inside with their dangerous gaze fixed towards them. "jagga!!" saroj gasped. "ee chalo challo...jaldi se ghar ki saaf safayi suru kar do..." jagga said. His two man immediately attacked and started to throw the furnitures and things on the floor. the sound of breaking glasses and furnitures spreade everywhere. Saroj was looking towards them with horrified eyes. "ye kya kar rahe ho??!! Saman kyun tor rahe ho..." antara screamed loudly. "eee larki chup rahee..." Jagga screamed loudly towards antara. "antara keep quite please.." saroj said in pleading tone. "eee aunty ji... samjhao apni bhanji ko... Bahut jyada uchl rahi hain... pata hain kya kiya iss chokri ne... raghubhai aur unke sare logo ko arrest karwa diya..." jagga said greeting his teeth. "kya?!! Antara tu?.." saroj looked at her with wide eyes. antara looked at her with guiklty face. "dekho aunty ji... Mai ne kahan ye first time hain iss liye bas warning de ke chor raha hoon... iss chokri se bolo ki jaldi iss basti se kaat le... naii too aap aur uncle ko idhar se jana parega..." Jagga said in cold voice. "ee chall..." jagga looked towards his man and ordered they got outside of house banging the door. Saroj collapsed on the couch looking at the broken and scattered things on the floor. her eyes were wide in fear. there was a dead silence on the room. Antara sat crossleged on the floor near saroj's feet. Her eyes were moistened and full of guilt. "mummy!!" she said poorly keeping her hands on saroj's knees. Saroj didn't respond and remained at same posture. "I am sorry mummy. I didn't knew that it would harm you... I told in police station to keep my identity secret. I don't know how they came to know." Antara said with teary eyes and pleading voice. "Now you understand antara why I told you to stay away from the matter?!" saroj asked looking towards antara with pitiful eyes. "antara they are much more powerful than police force or any other defense system of this city. don't you understand why daya mai is still out of jail after doing numerous crimes?" she said. "I know mumy." Antara sobbed again, "I knew it very well. But trust me, when I saw the poor man's deadbody on the dumping ground whom they were threatening this morning, I can't hold myself back.. I just can't. my morals, my values all screamed inside me to retort back. I just can't stand that..." she burst out. " I understand really well antara. I won't blame you for what you have done." Saroj let out a big sigh, "but thing is that... only bravery and intelligence is not enough to fight them... we lack the most important thing which they have, POWER AND OCCUPATION. We may have the intelligence, bravery and enthusiasm to fight them back but they will always dominate us with their immense power." Saroj said. "yes mummy. You are right. I understand now. I was really a big fool!!..." antara said shoving away her tears, "but from now on I promise that I won't create any problem in you and mama ji's life. I won't utter a single word opposing them though if I have to kill my heart for that." Antara uttered the words crying out her heart. "antara... no dear. Don't say like that..." saroj cupped antara's face and rubbed her tears. "mummy I will do the exact thing what they have said. I think it's the time. I promise I will leave the basti in one week. And then you and mama ji can leave here peacefully." She said. "no way antara!! don't say like this. everything's fine and I am damn sure that they won't create further problem." Saroj said. "no mummy. I don't think so. And besides... I don't want to create any problem in your life. I really can't live here mummy ji... I feel suffocation here. I can only here the sound of bullet and people's scream here. Everyday, I saw blood spot and the sign of gang war all morning in the pavements of basti... I can't tolerate this anymore mummy ji.. I simply lost my patience" antara broke out in crying and buried her face in saroj's lap. "antara calm down.. antara.." saroj caressed her hair. "mummy don't worry... I will surely get any place to live in this week. Shivani told me that she knew address of some good hostels and meshes. Maya and other's were also offering me to live with them in their mesh. I will come to meet you sometimes. Don't worry... I managed to live in this dreadful place for these few days. Now I can adjust anywhere in the world." Antara said lifting her face. " Okk antara... if it's too unbearable for you to live here then I won't stop you. but I will again advice you to think at once. ek baar fir se soch lo antara... kya ye akhri faisla hain tumhara?!" saroj asked. "haan mummy... yehi meri final decision hain... main ek hafte mein hi ye basti chorke chali jaungi..."antara said in cold voice. unknown to her that someone was listening to her words from the window.
Mach mach had just arrived in the basti and as raghu told him to keep eye on antara, he peeped through their window. She saw saroj and antara near the couch and they seemed upset. At that moment antara's word approached him... "haan mummy... yehi meri final decision hain... main ek hafte mein hi ye basti chorke chali jaungi..." machmach almost jumped listening to her words. "abey ye kya ho raha hain... bhai udhar bawra bana baitha hain iss ke piche aur ye yeri ek hafte mein basti se jaa rahi hain... ye kaunsa tamasha hain vey??!!" machmach thought worriedly.
Raghu came out from the lock up with a yank as usual. Inspector madhvan looked at him with still eyes. raghu came near the desk of inspector madhvan with his huge nasty grin and leaned on the desk keeping his hand on the wodden table. His black unreadable eyes were fixed towards inspector madhvan. "ee inspector... naye ho idhar na?... iss liye naii jaan te... baki o se puch lo to mera intro achi tarah se mil jayega... aur ek baat yaad rakhna... agey se apun ke sath bakhera karne na anna... daya mai ka hath hain mere sar mein... aur woo tujh jaise afsaro ko nay un chutki baja ke naukri se nikal sakte hain..." raghu snapped his fingers in front of his eyes. "batein kam karo aur jldi se idhar discharge paper pein sign karo..." inspector madhvan digested his words and gave him the discharge paper. Raghu understood that he was not like others whom he confronted before. He seemed cool headed and no doubt looked matured and experienced than others who just show off by shouting on him. "habildar isko iska sara saman de do..." inspector madhvan said. "chalta hoon... mere thobra yaad rakhna inspector.. baad mein zarror milengey.." raghu said widening his nasty grin. He took his mobile from habildaar. Inspector madhvan gave cold look to him and concentrated on the file in his hand. His other men.. pakiya, chotu and others also got discharged. As soon as raghu got the mobile he received a call from machmach. "haan bbol machmach kya khabar hain..." raghu asked. "arey bhai idhar sab garbar hain..." MM said from other side. "kya garbar hain?!! misscall thik too hain na?!!" a glint of worry suddenly appeared in raghu's eyes and tone. "arey yeri too barbar hain... par baat ye hain ki... Woo basti chorka jana chahti hain... woo bhi ek hafte mein..." MM said in loud voice. "KYA??!!" raghu's cell was almost about to slip from his hold. "ye kya kahe raha hain vey?!!... kaha se mili tujhe ye khabar?!" he asked in disbelief. "bhai apun apni kano se suna... yeri woo saroj aunty ji ko kahe rahi thi ki woo idhar se jana chahti hain.." he said. Damn!!! Raghu banged his hand on the wall in frustration. "tu ruk main abhi atta hoon..." raghu said and cut the phone. He rushed outside without wasting a moment.
"raghunath!! Main apna sara karobaar aur basti ka jimma tujhpe chor ja raha hoon... maine kisi aur pe ye jimma nahi diya... kyun ki mujhe pata hain.. sirf tu hi hain jo meri kahi har baton ko pathar ki lakeer ke tara manega.." DM said in determined eyes looking towards raghu. "ji mai... aap fikar mat karo.. raghunath ke rahete aap ki koi bhi cheez pein aach nahi ayegi..." raghu said with determined voice. "thik haib raghunath... ab main chalti hoon.. kabhi bhi zarurat pare to mujhe khabar karna.." dm said. raghu bend down and touched DM's feet. DM blessed her and get inside the car. The luxury car moved far at the road and got mixed in the crowd. It was almost 8:30 and the darkness had started to cover the surrounding. Raghu came back near the entrance of basti. Mai had gone for her long trip. she left his all work in raghu's hand. She also told her men that in her absence, raghu would be in the supreme position and everyone would obey his single word. Raghu came inside the basti in slow pace, it was quite dark and everyone was inside their house. So the lane was a bit empty. He walked towards the gate of naik sadan. When he reached there a scene stuck his feet to the ground. on the pavement at the doorstep of govind and saroj's house he find someone seating. He understood from far distance that who the person was. A little smile flashed in his face. after he came back, he was dying to talk to her. But he didn't got the opportunity cause he was busy in preparation for mai's trip. he was searching for a single chance to meet her, to ask her that from where did she got the rubbish idea to leave the basti?! At last god had granted him the opportunity. He stepped forward with quick paces.
Antara was seating outside of the house looking towards the starry night sky. She was exhausted, devastated to fight her inner battles. Her mom told her that human's fortune was written in the star. She wished if she could found the star who was leading her twisted fortune and future. Then she would ask him that why he had granted her so much sorrow in a single life?! what was her fault actually?! Leave that.. might be the star was hidden behind the dark clouds, just like her life was surrounded by darkness. papa.. you are watching over me na?! can you tell me why all these things are happening with me?! Why I have to fight with someone at each and every step of my life?' she asked in her mind. she didn't get any answer from the stars. "please pappa... please do something.. I can't tolerate anymore... please show me the single ray of hope... only a single ray on which I could depend and move on.." she prayed to his pappa closing her eyes. she heard someone's approaching step. She opened her eyes and looked up to c who was there. her breath stopped as she found raghu standing there and looking straightly towards her with unreadable black orbs. She gasped and stood up in hurry. His eyes never left her. Without wasting a single moment she move back and was about to go inside her house when again she felt huge pull in her hand. At the next moment she found herself facing raghu's black orbs looking straightly in her hazels from a very close proximity. She looked inside that orbs with mix feeling of fear and confusion searching for answer. he suddenly dragged her along with him, further from her doorstep. "yee kya kar rahe hoo... kahan le ja rahe ho mujhe?!!" she asked in startled voice. after a bit distance from her house, he stopped and left her hand. "baat karni hain tere se.." he looked directly in her eyes saying those words firmly. "to yahan kyun le ayein ho?!.. mere ghar ke saam ne se door kyun le aye ho mujhe?! Irada kya hain tumhara?!" she asked in a doubtful tone. "oyee!! Apni ulti dimag ko abhi challon mat kar... samjhi na.. baat karna hain matlab baat hi karna hain... samjhi?!!" he said in quite loud voice, antara became a slightly miffed and silent. "woo aaj subha jo huya..." he started to say but she interrupted him again. "dekho tumhe agar aaj subah ki baat karni hain to main saaf saaf kahe rahi hoon ki mujhe is issue ko aur barana nahin hain.. aur haan... mujhe apne kiye ke liye koi pastawa nahin hain.. kyun ki mujhe pata hain maine jo kiya sahi kiya... ab agey tunhe jo sochna hain.. jo karna hain kar lo..." she said in confident voice. "oyeee ooo madam... itna hi himmat hain to ye sab kya hain haan?!!... samna karne ki himmat nahi.. khali pilli zuban chalati hain.." he said in irritated voice. "huh!!" she became a bit startled. "aise sakal bana rahi hain jaise mooh mein bara paon ke jagah karela juice chala gaya ho..." he started his usual blabbers. Antara shook her head in irritation. "basti chorke kyun jana chahti hain haan?!!" he asked at last. "tumhe kaise..." she baceme a bit startled and then reminded that how strong their network was, "aur agar main jana chahti hoon to tumhe kya?!! Akhir tumlogo ne hi to mujhe mazboor kar diya mujhe ye basti chorne mein.." she said a bit loudly. "wah re wah... sari galti apun ki hain na... ee jhoot mat bol.. bata kya kiya maine haan?!!" he seemed a bit miffed, apun ne tere ko kuch kaha?!!! Koi dhamki di... arey tune mere ko arrest karwa diya fir bhi apun ne ek shabd bhi naii kahan!!! Kyun ki mere ko pata hain ki tune galti kar di thi...achi tarah se jaan ta hoon tujhe...ye sab locha tere khopri mein nahi ghusne wala... mai ke pauch ke barein mein jaan ti naii thi tu... Dekha na ek chutki mein nikal diya hum sab ko bahar..." raghu blabbered continuously and antara continued to listen to him silently. "fir bhi apun ne kuch kiya?! Naii na?!! to tu basti chor ke kyun jana chahti hain bata?!!!" he asked demanding an answer. "bandh karo apna ye natak.." she shot back with angry eyes. "tumne kuch nahi kiya par.. daya mai chahti hain ki main yahan na rahoon.. aur mujhe bhi yahin thik laga..." she said. "arey tu bhi na, woo tune apun ko pakarwa diya na iss liye mai ne ye sab kiya... par abb fikar mat kar koi kuch nahi kahega tujhe.." he said in assuring tone. "nahi... ab main aur nahi rahe sakti yahan... ab aur sahan nahi hota.. ghutan hoti hain mujhe yahan.." her words had started to shake. Her words almost broke his heart into several pieces. "eee kya bake jaaa raha hain... chup kar..." he almost ordered her. antara lifted her lids and looked directly to him. raghu was shattered looking at her moistened eyes. "galti meri hi hain... sach mein main bahut nadan thi..." she said unconsciously. "Kashmir mein tum achanak se mere saamne aa gaye the... main to tumhare barein mein kuch nahi jaanti thi... na tumhara naam.. na pata.. fir bhi... yahin meri galti thi... bina kuch jane bina kuch samjhe maine ek ajnabi se nata jor liya... DIL LAGA LIYA USSEY..." she said in unconscious mind. She didn't knew what she was talking. As soon as she said the last sentence raghu almost fell the wave of happiness heat him badly. He stood there froze, fixing his amused, intense orbs to her face. antara just realized what she spit out. She quickly covered her mouth and looked towards him with wide eyes. she saw that suddenly his face caught the huge glow. His eyes were gleaming with utter joy. She rushed towards her house. "misscall!!..." she heard his voice from behind. "jitna bhagna hain bhagle... par tu mere se door naii ja payegi... jidhar bhi bhage gi na... mere ko tere samne khara payegi... aaj tu bhag rahi hain... par bappa kasam antara... ek din tu khud aise hi bhag ke mere pass wapas ayegi..." his word created havoc in her mind. She didn't looked back and rushed madly towards her house. It seemed like his words were chasing him. "aur jate jate ye bhi sunti jaa... jane to apun tere ko kabhi nahi dega... chahein tu jitna bhi koushis kar le... tab tak iss basti se bahar nahi jane doonga jabtak tu apne dil khol ke mere saamne nahi rakh deti...mere ko woo fir sun ni hain antara jo tune kuch der pahele kahan aur apun woo sun ke rahega..." his confident voice almost shook her. she moved inside and banged the door closed. His words were still roaming in her mind making her heart racing in uneven speed.
Precap: "why it's happening with me pappa why?!! Each and every time I am trying to go away from him, you are bringing me closer to him?!! Why papa why?!! I need answer pappa... I NEED ANSWER!!!" she blurt out looking at her father's photo.
