if sandya staying in house(rm) they will get hra.
If she staying in quarters they didnt get hra.

BASIC SALARY -- this is the actual amount you are being offered by the company in return to your services.

DEARNESS ALLOWANCE -- this allowance is paid to save the employee against the price rise in country economy. It is taxable.(it will be changed in every 6 months after pay scale revision. Current 90%).

HOUSE RENT ALLOWANCE -- this allowance is granted to the person to meet the rent expenditure of his accomodation if he is living away from home. this is no taxable to a certain extent. The TAX exemption is given only in case the employee is living in some other city provided he gives the rent receit to his employer. If an employee is living in his own house and receiving HRA, it will be fully taxable.

CITY COMPENSATORY AMOUNT -- this allowance is given to employees who are posted in big cities to help them meet theer expenses and at the same time giving other employees reasons for not paying this amount. The significance is in terms to help employee meet his expenses and preventing him to pay a large amount as tax. This break up helps you decide make the investments and have alook to find out how much of you income is taxable.

Subha just see the liebe(sindhu) post in first page.

Junior Time Scale [Pay Band - III]Rs. 15,600 - Rs. 39, 100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5, 400.This is the first pay scale given to an IPS officer. This scale starts when he joined the Service as a trainee. The pay scale continues till he gets the first promotion. Usually, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) work under this pay scale.

An IPS officer gets approx Rs.38000 when he starts. Apart from that they get a house in a good locality, servants, fuel allowance, leave travel allowance etc. So Niruba in Ringgit terms it is 2121MYR. In US dollars it is $ 644. The salary is nothing great in terms of hard cash. However they occupy important positions in the government and are very powerful. They can get a lot of things done which an ordinary man can never dream of. The low salary is one of the primary reasons our police service is very corrupt. A civil servant would like to enjoy the same life style as a private sector person but gets paid one fourth of his salary. So many start making money through commissions on contracts awarded for purchase of guns etc or for suppressing evidence in cases involving powerful people. I am not saying all do it but many do. An honest police officer with the level of inflation in India will just make ends meet. Not too many luxuries. Recently many IPS officers almost 35 of them quit the service to join private sector where they were offered better pay scales. An IFS officer Devyani Khobargade was in the eye of a storm in the US. She was booked for violating US labour laws for not paying her Indian servant the US daily wage. Her argument was that US daily wage for servants is three fourth of her salary. How can she pay a servant brought from India that wage. This issue embittered US India relations and Devyani was arrested and had come to back after being granted diplomatic immunity by Indian Govt. Just an example to show how badly civil servants are paid and honesty is expected from them.
