This is actually quite an interesting post you've created. I've been following your comments and it's obvious that you are a Jennifer Winget fan. This is all the more interesting coz so far (I've followed all your posts on various forums and) our tastes actually usually match - right from the BMTD days!
Coming back to Riddhima - my personal opinion is that people do have a right to debate over this - especially coz 3 actresses portrayed this role. I really like Jennifer Winget and I think she's a wonderful actress - I've seen quite a few of her other shows. I'm not particularly a fan of Shilpa Anand either, but I like her as well.
I must honestly say that of the 3 though, I liked Shilpa's portrayal of the character. In all fairness, I must say that that must be coz she was the original Dr Riddhima. While JW is a great actress, somehow I felt like no one after Shilpa Anand managed to keep that spunk in Dr Riddhima. I used to like Dr Riddhima coz she could match Armaan - in every step coz of her spunk - she had a lot of life - be it fighting with Armaan or dancing to a touch me touch me or wearing that black mini skirt or wearing that sauce waala red dress to mock him. I feel like that liveliness and spunk was lost after Shilpa Anand left. It's almost like Riddhima's character changed after she left - it was like Riddhima mellowed down quite a bit after that - always damsel in distress and talking in whispers and sharmaofying and all that. Partly, I would say that Sukriti brought about that change coz of the way she portrayed the character - in my opinion, Jennifer only took it forward from there and did a beautiful job of portraying the mellowed down, whispering, talking in breaths, sharmaofying Riddhima that Sukriti left behind. I'll say Jennifer made that character much more beautiful.
Although I must say that I still feel like the original spunky Riddhima was Shilpa Anand. So, I'll say this - if we're looking at a Riddhima like the original character when it started, my vote goes to Shilpa. But, if we're looking at a Riddhima like the mellowed down, gentle, soft woman she became, then my vote goes to Jennifer.
