I'd like to add to this 'muamma' list the following scenes:

When Ridzi (played by SA) once hit a wall and her lab coat ripped at the shoulder - she got all shy in front of A. I was wondering ... so it was ok to bare your shoulder in front of him when wearing the spaghetti strap kameez, but not if the lab coat has a 1mm slit in it ....

When the ever famous scene of Ridzi (played by JW) teaching the amnesia ridden A takes place in the library, and her dupatta slides off of her neck and he gets all ... affronted, and puts it back in place ... I was wondering - so he got all uncomfortable when it slid OFF OF ONE SHOULDER, and landed on her hand ... but it was ok to see her in a strapless dress and do a jiggy with her on 'salaam namaste' ...

The most famous one - SA and KSG when she was in the black dress, and a RED 'ROBE LIKE' SHEER CHIFFON "covering". So go watch that scene again, and then please tell me one thing - how is it that when she has that SHEER, SLEEVLESS, FRONT OPEN, thingy on her, she's 'all covered', but when it comes off, she's like ... nakey nakey ...

I just don't get it some times ... It's like the REASON they have dupatta's, and the REASOn they're so long is in hopes that they'll get stuck on some guy, and the girl's can act all shy about it ...

I'd like to add that my comment, in NO WAY, is ridiculing any actor, or character, but rather the concept behind this
'modesty', and the mockery that the makers have made of the 'dupatta', and the concept of 'hayaa' ...

awww, my sunshine🤗(whats ur name honey??😳)
u made me recall all the' funny' (sorry fans) scenes😆

Again, no offense to SA, or her character - love 'em both.

omg, that wud be really funny😆
but I think may its the case of torn dress again.😳

Name's Inaya, but (and ironically enough) my middle name is Haya. And of course, I 'love' it when ppl make it a mockery of the word.

Not to start a war here, but this topic (the 'placement' of the dupatta') has been a hot one, out side of the serials/soaps/bollywood world also. It's become an accessory, rather, a problem for quite a few folks. Some droop it over a shoulder, some wear it around the neck, some carry it in the back looping it over one arm to another, some some loop it around the neck almost chocking themselves.

The proper way to wear it - if meant to serve it's purpose - is the way Geet wore it in the beginning of her serial ... but you don't see it anymore. And i don't mean TV anymore, but in real life.

Not to say you can't dress modestly w/o the dupatta, many ways to accomplish that. Just like there are many ways to accomplish immodesty with a dupatta.

Again, no offense to anyone. To each their own, and I'm not judging anyone, or anyone's fashion sense. But there WAS a purpose to this piece of clothing, and for the most part, it no longer serves that purpose - sadly.

Shamil, yet another bold attempt to challenge some of the love theme. Humour apart, in my view each attire has a decor of it's own be it traditional, be it western. For intense if one wore a spaghetti top and one of the spaghetti gave way, it makes the person wearing uncomfortable, even though the same person is used to wearing bear shoulder dresses. Similarly the decor of a sari is it's anchal/pallu, if they slips down the drape is meaningless (in my view sari is most sensuous attire in this entire world, dose it not show the entire shape and persona of the person wearing it). Coming to dupatta somehow it is like the spaghetti strap or the anchal of the sari. So in my view, of a person who wears all the different attired with pride and carry it, I would feel sensitive and exposed if that simple part is missing. This is entirely my point of view others may differ and I would happily say "I beg to differ here, please".

hmmmm - I'm guessing they're "shy" only when the hone waala love of their life is looking at them w/o that ornament ... if it was a guli ka ghunda looking, then there would be just anger in teh eyes. If it was anyone else ... there wouldn't be any shyness.

That's all I have really ... no real answer. What I'd be interested in watching is HOW she sports the sleeveless, strapless, short dresses, after this scene.

Again - no offense to SA, or her character (I should just cut and paste this after each post) ...

Hey Jhoota Ji,😃

This Topic is not for me coz I'm Not a Girl.😉

Well In Serials,Love without Dupatta is Impossible.😊
Well At Last Moment,It Seemed to me that Suddenly A thought Came in Shilpa's Mind that She is Indian & has to respect her Values & Culture.
I'm OK with That.
She also knows Gayatri Mantra yaar.👏
Ahhhhh.......I Agreed That Arju Sniffed & Blowed his Nose in Shilpa's Dupatta.
That Guy is Really ....................
Loved The Humorous Take on Dupatta.😉😆😉
I 'll try to save Myself Coz I don't want any Ladki's Dupatta Falling on My hair.😆

Very nicely put - I like your answer.

I understand the bit about the dupatta being an essential part of a certain attire. And if it ... gets lost in the wind, lets say, then one feels uncomfortable coz the ensamble isn't all there. So you're saying she's more 'uncomfortable' rather than 'shy' ... k.

I like your simple take on it - something isn't gelling with me, but can't put my finger on it just yet ... will come back to this one.
