From a neutral point of view this is what I have to say about this forum, the moderation, the countless rules and this moving of ATs.
First and foremost this forum is in the state it is due to a foul few who clearly do not understand the fine difference between constructive criticism and outright bashing, and also because whether one likes it or not, this forum is divided in to countless groups, no one in here is a DMGian as per se, which ruins the environment and the harmony of this forum. Secondly, there are way too many young ones on this forum, which again makes me revert back to the bit about not understanding the meaning of the term criticism. Because frankly if one says anything against Armaan the charcter, they will apply it to KSG the actor. And I am not generalising this for all the young ones, but a select few for whom it's hard to differentiate between the two.
Thirdly, members open up the same topic again and again wording it slightly different, but the main consensus behind them being the same. What is the point of it? I've seen countless of threads opened up by numerous of members who are talking about the same thing, whether it is to drool about the character/actor/couple or to praise them or to disregard the storyline or how magnificent they found the scene. And no, I am not against a healthy discussion, or pouring out your thoughts if they are in difference of opinion to the other topic maker, but why are they repeatedly made, it congests the forum. I know this becomes hard to monitor for the DT, but this is something that the members on this forum need to take in to consideration. You can't always rely on a higher power, there are things one needs to do as well. If you want a clean forum, you need to work towards it as well. When we live in our house with parents, we don't expect them to do everything, even though they are the higher authority, we help to maintain the house and make it in to a home.
My opinion about the moderation and the rule; this is based upon what I have seen around the forum. Personally, I don't understand why there are sooooo many rules, and countless others are being added. Having so many rules, only gets members more frustrated and wanting to break them, because at this rate there will be no freedom of expression left in this forum. This is what frustrates so many members and hence they go forward and break the rule. An example, when you are living at your parents, you have to follow a set of rules, but how many times have you gone ahead and broken them- countless. And depending upon the level of rule breaking you get punished, so why isn't there different levels of warning for different rule breakers. (I am not sure, if such thing exists already)
It is in human nature to break rules, hence making countless more is not going to help the matter in hand. It will in turn, create more problems for you- the moderators.
Regarding to the fairness of the DT members, I can't really comment, because personally I haven't had much contact with any of the mods in this forum. But, generally there will be biasness; we are all bias, but when you're in power, you need to get rid of that biasness for that time being. You need stop thinking as a fan of a particular couple/actor/character and stop being a friend. If you know that your friends are opening up topics just to create unnecessary drama, speak to them separately if that helps the matter. But you need to deal with it sensibly. I am not preaching, I am saying this as a normal member. Members will come up to you to complain, since you volunteered to be the mod, you need to put yourself in their place and then with a clear head make a decision from your past experiences. It must be difficult to handle this forum and your daily life, but may be sort out a timetable between each other, ask for more mods, sort out a better tactic to deal with offenses. Make the term bashing and criticism a bit clear for younger members. One can't say 'Armaan is being stupid, or acting dumb' I am pretty sure that would be taken offensively by many fans and termed as bashing. When it's clearly not, it is merely making a statement on his behaviour. You would know better, as you're in the seat. I can only make suggestions.
Lastly coming down to the moving of ATs, I think it's not fair to actually move them away from the forum. Firstly, it seems that the DTs are running away from their responsibility, and secondly I think the onus of the ATs should lie upon their owners; so in that respect it's unfair to blame the DTs. Like someone suggested of having the monitor idea, may be it should be tested out to see if it works out. I am not going to blame or say that move the troublesome one, because it most probably happens in every AT. I am sure every AT gets stalked and reported. Now, it's up to the DT to decide which reports are actually troublesome so to say. It all boils down to individual perspective.. so it's the DTs call here. But frankly, I think that all ATs deserve another chance, moving them is not really going to make this forum any peaceful. There are numerous topics in the main forum everyday that are full of utter rubbish, disrespectful and disgusting words.
I wrote way too much.. but just wanted to put it out. It's your call at the end of the day, we can only provide our feedback sadly.
