Parth and Shouvri don't really want a child - they want a ticket into the family. Is this fair on the child?

If we look at it from moral perspective then yes because having a child just to strengthen their position in the family sounds selfish but we also know that they won't be the kind of parents that would only have the child but not raise it properly. They did welcome the news of Shorvori's pregnancy with happiness.
I would have to look at the episode before making any judgement. For all we know, the couple might be okay with adoption to get a child but felt to go for the surrogacy as it would not only give them their on child but also reconnect them with their family.

PaRi 's wanting for the baby has grown formidably to revive the family tie. This doesn't indicate that above reason is the sole purpose because after the pregnancy news they realise that birth of child would help them regain the lost status. Also they are happily married, think the time is opportune to become parents. Yes, since Shourvari would be losing the capability to bear a child. It could be detrimental in acquiring (winning) the status in family, this might have necessitated in adopting the surrogacy process.

From what has been shown till now, Parth and Shorvori are a young couple married for two years and weren't seriously thinking about having a child. Once they realized they are going to be parents, and that their child can help them regain lost place in the family, the unborn child has become their last hope. Their feelings for the child would have grown with time like any other young couple, had the miscarriage not happened.

In the hospital scene of Parth and his mother, her dialogues were hinting that she is sad more because her son lost a chance to come back to the family, rather than sorrow of loosing the child. Parth's feelings were not like that. He was genuinely sad for his wife and the lost child. They haven't yet shown Shorvori's thought process, I hope they show the feelings of Shorvori as a mother!!

Despite that, I feel the main driving factor for the couple to go for surrogacy would be their desperation to reconcile the family ties, because it is their highest priority right now. Had that not been the case, they might have waited and given a detailed thought on other options. They aren't shown as someone who are too keen on getting a child of their own blood!! But as said in other posts, this won't necessarily mean they won't love the child in the same way, had the decision come through their own desire of having their biological child.

I can see the pain in the eyes of Parth, for not able to save his unborn child, for not able to become the source to his wife's union into his family, for not able to bring happiness in the eyes of his mother and for not able to regain the lost love from his grandfather towards him.

But the same cannot be seen in Soorvari's face. Infact she should be more hurt and in pain. Not that this child is the source to her union into the family but the child is her little bundle of joy and the product of her and Parth's love.

If a successful married couple becomes parents for the first time whether planned or un-planned, they give importance to the safety of the un-borned child, not that they think him as a source, but at present in this show every character except Parth and his grandparents are making way for the surrogacy which is weird.

Hope in the coming episode the CV's show Surrogacy as the last option to the couple. Also wish to see Soorvari's character evoke some feelings towards her in the eyes of viewers.

I have seen a couple go through hell before they were finally successful with some complicated in-vitro process.

Here they were not even planning/wanting a child. They have been married only for a couple of years. Going for a surrogacy option as a way to fool the family and gain entry into it just seems wrong.

The show and CVs are taking the topic way to lightly.

It did not look like they were planning a child. They were in the process of moving to new country when they found out.

@bold - I agree. The reason for wanting a child and to jump straight to surrogacy is wrong. They will be fine parents - but then they are having the child for the family - they know that the family will raise and care for the child anyway.

@bold - this is what I am hoping for. I want CVs to take the subject seriously. I want to see Shourvi's struggle to share her husband with another woman - I am assuming they are not going through the medical surrogacy route.

In this whole surrogacy plot - who has most to lose? Shourvi. Parth can always walk away with the child and the other woman. I want to see her address this fear.

May be I am expecting too much...😆

To be precise Surrogacy in real is the last option. This process is adopted by only those who cannot produce child i.e if either of the couple go through family planning operation or IVF process cannot be carried on the wife or the reproductive system in the wife is completely damaged. Not for the case of some family prestige or Acceptance.

If the CV's really want to convey any social message though this show then they should put some logic in it rest drama can continue for their TRP purpose.
