Okay, today I watched the episodes of this week from Monday-Wednesday, and aside from the scenes b/w Viraj & Uma, it felt totally like a new serial. Which I thought was refreshing.

First of all, Ananya. Apparently, she's a journalist, w/ all the attitude that that carries. One thing I'm not getting is trying extra hard to give her a Bong flavor. Her name is Ananya Ghosh (the joke made Tuesday about her name should have been Ananya Boss, not Ananya Ghosh), her fav is rasagollas (how stereotypical!). But the thing that gets me is her switching b/w Hindi & Bengali while talking to her mom. Seriously - who does that? Most people would pick either of the 2 languages for the bulk of their conversation.

Rajinder - is he a colleague of Ananya's, or just his love interest? Ananya introduced him to her boss, who had a good laugh 😆 But while Raj is here due to her emergency, doesn't he have a regular job of his own?

Ananya's boss - hope they give him a name and introduce him more thoroughly. But that pen used to record him - what's this, a James Bond movie? It would have made more sense of Ananya recording it using her iPhone/Galaxy, w/ the camera hole peeping out of the button hole in her pocket. And really, how many people would exactly get to blackmail their bosses as brazenly as she did, w/ the threat of getting the news on another channel? They'd be shown the door.

Ananya's mom seems to be the only person who scares her, but I wonder how strong she really is? Gayatri had been a really good role model in this serial - wonder whether Mrs Ghosh will match up? Particularly when Viraj catches up w/ them and enters their lives.

The heart thing continues to bug me. First, the doc mentions to Mrs Ghosh & Raj that the previous owner had consumed poison, and these 2 don't rail @ him for not disclosing this to them earlier? Next thing - whenever Viraj says something about Jhanvi's heart, why does Ananya get ESP? It's not like Jhanvi loved Viraj, so even buying the inane notion of the heart being the emotional headquarters of a body, why would Jhanvi's heart in Ananya react @ anything Viraj says or does? It should be focusing on maybe softening up Ananya for Raj. Speaking of which, since when did Sia have such a strong heart that made her such a fighter - she would always tremble b4 Viraj. If anything, it would be Ananya's old heart that would be stronger.

Having said all that, the joke b/w the boss and Raj over giving Ananya a brain transplant was funny. 😆

I'm intrigued by the new plot. What I'm even more interested in is whether Gayatri or Uma get contacted by Raj or Ananya while finding out about Viraj's past? This one shouldn't be difficult - since Viraj spent time in jail & had a criminal record, it should not be difficult for Ananya to trace him back. I hope they don't show Viraj as superman again while combating her, but that both play to their strengths an elaborate game of cat & mouse.

This time, hopefully, w/ Ananya winning.

Really? People code-switch all the time. It's perfectly normal, no?

Vrish, the show has become quite interesting with these indirect Viraj-Ananya interactions. It did drag a bit with Jhanvi's dead body as I was more interested in watching how Viraj dealt with the heart transplant and his hunt for that, and now that we have finally arrived to that track the show has become quite interesting!

I've been really enjoying these past few episodes and there is a curiosity factor attached to it. Just waiting for the day Viraj realizes Ananya has Jhanvi's heart. 😆

I typically switch b/w English and Hindi, or English & Bengali, but rarely b/w Hindi & Bengali w/ the same person. Maybe it's just me?

Ananya talking to her mom sometimes in Hindi, and sometimes throwing in a sentence in Bengali looks strange. What's she trying to do - show that she knows Bengali, or tell us that she's a Bong? The CVs seem to be pretty emphatic about it - will they be taking the serial to Calcutta?

Given what Uma told Viraj, I'm curious as to whether Viraj will have all his run-ins w/ Ananya, and @ the end of the serial, will realize that it's she who has Jhanvi's heart? Or will he find out early enough and chase Ananya for that reason? I'm half hoping that it's the former. 😈

Agree w/ you. Suddenly, this serial has become interesting. I think all of you in this page may disagree w/ me, but I found Ananya to be the one who is interesting and exciting to watch, not Viraj.

Interesting. So people wouldn't really switch between Bengali and Hindi? Didn't know that. We hear it all the time with Punjabi and Hindi in the media. So I figured it wouldn't be so different. (That being said I can totally believe the dialogues aren't believable. Even in films the code switching between English and Hindi, there are those that are done well. And others that look forced.)

Either way, I haven't really watched since some time last week. I just might check out this week's episodes over the weekend.

In the media, it's different - happens here as well. I'm talking about when 2 people converse - would they normally switch b/w Punjabi & Hindi? I'm familiar w/ Bengal, Maharashtra & Gujarat, and I've rarely heard people switch b/w those languages & Hindi. But those languages & English happens all the time.

I do understand - they can't suddenly make this a Bengali serial just for that reason. But in real life, no such constraints would apply

Ananya is definitely an interesting character too. I mean, right now along with Viraj, there is also Ananya who I look forward to. That hasn't happened in a long time. 😆

And I like Mala Salariya here. Didn't quite like her much in TMLS, maybe it was the role.
