Epi was so brilliant IMO...there were such nuggets of gold hidden in each segment!
1. Loved the insights into Jhanvi's childhood...she seems like such a hands-on, enthusiatic girl there! Esp with the hidden money. For me that symbolizes something abt their relationship: her relationship with Viraaj had a great deal to do with money -- not from her side but from his. As far as Viraaj was concerned, he has a right to the abuse because wasn't he treating her like a princess? Why was Jhanvi having anything with a mechanic who - though he hailed from a rich family - often lived on his own and lived a spartan life? Little Jhanvi is fascinated by the coins and wants to know if they will grow into a tree...now wiser, she takes them out...knowing that neither those coins - nor any relationship where it was the most important thing - had any chance of growing into something more precious. Faulty theory, I know, but JMO!
2. I am puzzled abt the fact that the house is still standing...wasn't that house the one that was burned down?
3. Loved the slight taunt in the neighbour's voice when reminding Viraaj that despite being their son-in-law he never bothered to keep in touch or find out anything about them...that was needed.
4. I thought for the first time we're seeing another side to Unniyal's fear-laced devotion...we also see the bitterness in his voice as he cleans Viraaj's shoes and washes his car...and I can't help but think that a lot of the funny things he says are being said with a tinge of knowing irony.
5. The family scenes were wonderful...esp given that when Jhanvi 'died' they were still under the impression that Viraaj had lost someone dear to him too, they never once judged her even though her presence must have been a shock. They even suggested divorce...which IMO makes them ROCK! 😃
6. Sia maybe I'd see as a little muddle-headed by stress, but Raghav leaving the CD in the taxi, given how carefully he planned the trap AND rechecked for anything he might have missed on his way out, seemed a little out of character.
7. The parting scene -- beautifully done! There was an absolute change in the way she reacted...almost like something clicked in her head at that moment.
8. Raghav was an absolute cracker in this epi! The symbolic shawl...the openness he shared at his very first meeting with her family -- awkward but so endearingly honest! The way he spoke with Jhanvi's father, man to man. The initial wisps of suspicion Gangadhar had, which turned quickly to trust as soon as he saw the honesty with which Raghav himself spoke. As far as I was concerned, Raghav fit in with the family like a glove. And how, even when he was being dragged to jail for a crime he never committed -- his first priority was to silently encourage Sia to fight this battle on her own.
8. The SLAP!! Holy canneloni, Jhanvi, that was one smacker!!
Ana, can I say I feel slightly smug about that rockbottom discussion we had MONTHS back? 😎
