I suppose that tonight's episode broke many hearts. Personally, I feel that what was shown tonight had been insinuated before -- however, people were in denial.
Anyway, on to the critique.
>> Pros:
1) That blood on your hands
Oh, he always had blood on his hands. Jahnvi's blood. Others' blood.
Tonight we all witnessed V commit his first murder. Well, I don't believe that it was his first murder since he abandoned a post mortem doctor to rot to death. Oh, and I believe that V used to have a dog that suddenly disappeared along with a gatekeeper. But since everyone's been in denial over these happenings, let's just pretend that he committed his first murder tonight.
Either way, he has blood on his hands. He murdered tonight. In cold blood. It wasn't a spur of the moment thing. It was deliberate. It was thought out. It was heartless. It was villainous. Be my guest and continue to deem him anti-hero, grey, whatever.
But, deep down, I think we all know what this means.
He killed and he did not shed a tear in remorse. Even when he pretended shock, even as he fell to his knees and pretended to tremble -- he couldn't even sell pretending to be remorseful. There was nothing but self-pity in his voice, on his face. God, I do hate this man beyond anything. What a dark, heartless creature.
No conscience. No heart. His soul is as black as his deed. As tainted as his deeds. It is ironic, really. How he strains for perfection and order and everything to be clean. When his hands are the filthiest ones. The ones that tortured, raped, and murdered without hesitation.
And what a lovely shot he had too. Shot the guy straight in his chest. Goodbye.
2) Sia doesn't want to lose her friend
I loved the way Sriti Jha said those dialogues. The way she said that she didn't want her friend to change -- the one who gave her a new life, helped her find strength to move on. There was a lot of emotion on her face, in her voice. It was just of so much importance to her that she still had Raghav.
I don't think that she realized her own feelings at that point. She was cautious, but I sensed something more, something running deeper. Not love yet, but deeper than friendship. She doesn't want to lose him. It's selfish, but human. She has a right to want him as her friend -- just as he has a right to refuse it.
But you know what was most beautiful? When Raghav looked her in the eye for a long moment, and then told her that her friend wouldn't change. That was a promise. And it once again showed Raghav's selflessness. He would give her whatever she asked of him -- regardless of the pain it would cause him.
3) Sia takes Raghav's arm with haq
I simply loved this. I can't tell you in words the significance of this brief scene. The way Sia grabbed his arm was with sheer confidence and right -- there was absolutely no hesitation, not nervousness, no fear. I've never seen her grab anyone's arm quite like this -- if she's even ever done it before.
And the best part? The pleasant surprise on Raghav's face. He'd never expected her to do that in a million years. And I believe that was why he turned to face her. Just a simple moment between the two that signified the depth and beauty of their bond, their relationship. Hands down, mindblowing performances by both. I especially loved Harshad's expression in this scene -- his eyes spoke volumes. They were intense.
4) Sundar's resolve
Okay, so forget that Sundar never got a chance to act on his resolve. What matters is that he finally chose to tell Raghav the truth -- the whole truth -- regardless of the consequences.
5) Gayatri-Komal's hug
However brief, it was nice to see saas-bahu hug like that. It's so rare to find saas-bahu relationships on TV that are so refreshing -- that carry so much depth. They are seriously like best friends. Very sweet hug between them.
6) Taashu's blind faith in her brother
I loved how Raghav told Taashu not to react at anything he said, and how she blindly followed it. No reaction at all. She trusts him and that was nice to see. Plus I have missed their scenes together. Even though it was on the phone, I still enjoyed it.
7) Krish noticed V too
He saw V with the gun, glaring at Raghav. I just hope that he bit into that and does not continue to play V's favorite dog from now on -_- What more scary proof does one need to stay away from a man like V?
8) Unniyal's insecurity
I really love how the CVs give Unniyal layers and how the actor manages to convey it so brilliantly. I feel bad for Unniyal, in a way. He's trapped. He kind of realizes it -- but at the same time, he doesn't consider it, because that would mean listening to his conscience which is telling him that things are getting out of hand with V and he should stop him somehow.
Unniyal is scared of V, obviously. But he kind of admires him, too. In a twisted way. Yet at the same time, I feel like Unniyal has a conscience that he's strangling as he joins in on V's murderous plans. I don't know. I could be wrong. But I sense that U's somehow insecure about this whole Get Jahnvi Back No Matter The Cost plan.
9) "Nice legs"
Can I just drool for a moment and say that Harshad was on fire with those kicks in the action sequences? I swear. I had this mental vision of Lucas Scott telling Peyton "nice legs" during his first Basketball game on One Tree Hill.
I was telling Harshad the same thing in my head while watching his awesome fighting. His expression were damn intense. LOVED them. Especially when one of the goons hit his-- Oh, sorry, punched his face! That look he gave the camera... if eyes could kill...
>> Cons:
1) CUT, CUT, CUT and CUT
Um. I needn't mention all the cuts, because I'm sure we all noticed. But one cut that specifically bothered me was when Raghav told Taashu that she could tell Komal and Gayatri the truth, but not the cops and Taashu hung up. CUT, all three are gathered in a room, all happy about the good news.
Couldn't the editors have taken a moment to put in a scene of the cops leaving and, I dunno, Taashu telling Komal and Gayatri in the hall? Flow would've been better.
2) Sundar's disappearance
Nooo *sobs* I don't think he's dead, but I just don't want him gone! He went to Manali for like EVER, and then finally came back but was barely shown! Ugh. Is this a budget thing? Like, Unniyal's back, so Sundar's out. And when Unniyal's out, Sundar will be back. Saving money?
I'm not liking it.
3) V's zulfein
Can they please choose ONE hairstyle for him? It's annoying with the switches and that too in the same shot. I mean, how on earth did he get time to fix his hair while going on a mission to shoot someone? It's like one of those scenes where there's a huge fight going on and someone goes "hold up" and flips their hair right before saying "okay, I'm good, continue".
