She woke up with a little stir and the first thing she did after waking up was to turn to her little angel to check if she was fine, she caressed her hairs as a sad smile formed on her lips, it's been two days to that unfortunate day, her eyes moistened, may be he would had left shimla by now, may be she would never meet him again, a tear rolled down her cheek, was it really going to happen this way, will she really never meet him again?
Two years back when she had walked away from his life, she was sure about the fact that they won't be meeting ever again in life but life surprised her by doing the exactly opposite by bringing him in front of her, thou it gave her nothing but pain by witnessing the hatred in them, for her but still she met him and now she don't know what to expect from life, was it really going to the old way, she moving on with her child and not meeting him again or him coming in her way and may be, may be they could be together again
Sighing, she got out of the bed and went to take shower, once she got ready she went outside to greet Anita who was preparing breakfast 'Good Morning aunty' she greeted 'Morning bacha...how is anaya?' 'She is okay aunty, still sleeping' 'Palak, you have been taking care of her so well, I am glad she is fine now' Anita said as she along with palak set the table for two.. 'but aunty don't you think we should get her checked by Doctor Ifra?' 'What's the need for that palak?' 'She is child's specialist aunty, we can get a proper check up done' palak told her on which she nodded understanding 'alright, then let's do like this, i will come with you today then we can get her check up done after which I will bring anaya back home and you can continue with her duties, waisa bhe you didn't go last two days so there might be a lot of work load' Anita said on which she sighed
'That's possible, I really hope I won't get to see some patients, I really hope that they had left by now' She prayed 'which patient?' 'Oh nothing, you do one thing, get ready till then I will get anaya ready and then we can leave, also i will call hospital and get an appointment for anaya' Anita nodded after which they had their rest of the breakfast silently
Palak reached outside Doctor Ifra's cabin and checked the time 'aunty we still have 15 minutes for the appointment, so will you wait here and i can go and get through my duties for today...' palak suggested 'that's okay with me palak, you go and do your work, I will get her properly checked and we will leave for home...' 'but meet me before you leave aunty, let me know what ifra has to say...' 'Of course, I will...now go and don't worry' Anita said caressing her head lovingly, she just smiled and handed over anaya to her
She went through all her work which was taken care by other doctors in her absence, she went through her duties for today, 'its going to be a tiring day' She sighed and wore her coat, and went out of her cabin, she first went to the general ward, it took her half an hour there, she had no idea that what awaits her outside when she walked out and got hit by someone 'dekh kar nahe ch..' she was about to lash out at the person who too fell because of the push and was about to say something back to her but both of them stopped, their eyes grew wide and their heart skipped a beat 'rithwik' she whispered, she starred at him with shock, she thought he had left while he starred back with longing in his eyes
'Dr.Sharma' someone called out to her, loud enough to bring her back to world, she looked up for the person who called her and then again looked down even before she could see who it was, rithwik was still looking at her but that shock and longing was replaced by anger and pain, she looked away and got up while he too started to get up
''Dr.Sharma' a nurse came to her calling out to her again 'there is this patient, who wanted to meet you' she told her and even thou palak was still a little lost, nodded at her as she registered her words in her mind 'kon milna chahta tha sister?' She asked not turning back to look at him even thou she could feel his eyes on her 'Mr.Noon, you had treated him two days back, he wanted to thank you' she told and even before palak could say something or react she found Vijay Noon coming towards her and along with him was Mamta noon while behind her stood Rithwik Noon, Palak didn't know what she should do, she wanted to run away
'Hello Dr.Sharma, I am Vijay Noon' Vp forwarded his hand for a handshake, palak frowned on his strange behavior but soon remembered how she never met him and how he never saw her 'Hel...hello sir, I am glad you are fine now' 'ahh, it was impossible without you doctor, I could remember how you took care of me whenever i gained conscious and today I just came to thank you before leaving' he said with a smile and palak who was trying to smile back lost her smile 'you are leaving' she mumbled but loud enough for the trio to hear
'Yes we are leaving, my work here is done, my son managed it so well, meet my son, ricky, come here son' and it was show time, she thought as he came and stood beside vp, just opposite her, 'she is Dr.Sharma Ricky, who treated me, the one I told you about' Vijay explained him again and he nodded at him and raised his hand towards her 'Rithwik Noon' he introduced himself for the sake of his dad while she with a shiver raised her hand and placed it in his, something happened to them, but they didn't show and she replied back 'Dr.Sharma' 'thank you for taking care of my father' 'it was my duty' And they let go of each other
All the time Mamta was quite, she couldn't tell rithwik anything earlier and didn't know if itwas okay to speak up now or not...she sighed as soon as she realized that palak would never say anything to stop him while mamta won't get a chance for now
'Ricky, it's time you should know everything' 'what is it mom, please tell me' 'Ricky palak...' 'Mom, bhai...dad is not doing well, doctor is calling you' And that news was enough to make them worried, forgetting everything they followed shivam inside
'Mr.Noon is taking a lot of stress lately and that's why his bp shot up and he lost his conscious, and even though situation is not really bad for now its not really good too, you need to take care of him and keep him happy, any tension, stress or anything which would make him upset or gloomy is not good for him' 'don't worry doctor, I will take care of him well' Rithwik said and after that Rithwik didn't leave any stone to keep vp happy, he took over the deal and worked on it along with spending all his time with him, vp was really happy and better then before while mamta, she couldn't get any chance to break the news to Rithwik, because what mattered to him was his dad and she had no stamina to break the news to him and break him when he himself was being someone's strength forgetting his own miseries
'Palak beta' someone called out, and except for Vijay, Palak, Rithwik and mamta turned towards the person who called out at her, while something clicked to vijay too but he didn't give it much thought until that someone came and stood just beside them with the very own Dr.Sharma turned to that woman 'aunty, you go home, we will talk when I will get back home' Palak told her with urgency, she raised her brows in confusion but shrugged it away 'Palak, I don't think we should have this conversation later because it's about your daughter and it's urgent'
Rithwik eyes widened on hearing the word daughter while Vijay now clearly remembered something but Palak had long forgotten about them 'kya matlab urgent aunty?' What did ifra say? Is anaya fine? Fever to khatam hogya tha na?' Palak asked with her panic visible in her tune on which Anita sighed 'beta relax, tum pareshan hojaogi to anaya ka khayal kon rakhega, you are the only one she has, and ifra was talking about some tests which needs to be done very soon and that she will call you and discuss things in detail once she is done with her appointments for the day or jab tum bhe free ho' she was speaking but palak wasn't listening to her
'Test..for...for what aunty...kyun' she mumbled as she stumbled a little, anita wanted to hold her but she had anaya in her hands but mamta came close to them and held palak ignoring both men with her, her priority for now was palak 'Palak relax beta, come sit' and she made her sit at the bench behind 'Palak relax karo, its just a test' 'Mamta aunty, anaya just had a little fever, why does she want to run tests? Kya Hua hoga meri beti ko...' 'beta it could be anything, you don't need to think too much for now...was your delivery normal? what's her age' 'no aunty, but thou it was a premature delivery, doctors did tell me that she is perfectly fine, aunty she is just one year and five months old, she is not even two yet, aese kaise ushe kuch hosakta hai..tests kyun karane hain meri Beti ke, aunty anaya ko kuch hogaya toh mai Kya karunge, uske siwa mera hai hi kon...' and she cried
'Palak listen, you are very strong, tum yeh sab manage karsakti ho, chalo I will come with you, we will talk with the doctor and tests bhe karwa lenge, we will then know what the matter actually is' 'she is right palak, don't worry beta, you have faced much worst then all this' 'and babies in this age get easily ill, it can be minor jaundice or anything, you shouldn't worry this much' mamta added
Palak sat there still before turning to anaya and took her from anita hugging her close 'mumma won't let anything happen to you Princess, you are my reason to live...we will fight this together' she whispered and kissed her forehead
All this while she had forgotten about Rithwik and Vijay Noon, but just when she thought to thank mamta, she realized she wasn't alone and her eyes landed on rithwik, he was looking at her with so many emotions in them, she couldn't decide what she saw in them, it was difficult to decide what was he thinking, she wanted to leave, she wanted to go away as she then looked at Vijay Noon, and the look on his face was enough to tell her that he knows, he knows which Palak sharma she was
She closed her eyes, it was all because of her, only if she hadn't lose control over her emotions, she then turned to mamta 'thank you for being with me aunty, but I am fine and I can manage everything after this, can you please leave me alone?' She pleaded but something stopped mamta from giving in to her request 'Palak i want to know if she is fine or not...anaya meri bhe to kuch lagti hai na' 'mamta ji, yeh ap Kya keh rahe hain' vijay asked, confusion could be clearly seen on his face 'Is aurat ki beti se hamara kiya vasta' he said in a low tune but one could sense anger and hatred in them 'vijay ji how can you...' mamta was ready to argue but palak held her hand 'aunty please, you can get my number from reception, call me later and i will let you know about anaya, you should go for now..I promise to be in contact' mamta placed her hand on her's and squeezed it a little 'please' 'I will' and they got up
Vijay turned and started walking away letting other know that this conversation was over for him and mamta too started walking away but rithwik, he somehow was able to understand something even though nothing was said clearly but he couldn't decide if whatever he was thinking was even possible?
'Ricky let's go' Vijay called out for him and he turned while palak with a heavy heart made her way to the other side, they kept walking away from each other but their heart urged to be with each other, but they couldn't even turn until at the end of the corridor, they stopped and turned a little, their eyes met and a lot of unsaid things were said within their eyes, a lot of unspoken words were conveyed and with a heavy heart they went in different direction letting go of the other
Sneak Peak to next part
'Anaya is one year and five months old, it was a premature delivery...uska aur kya matlab hosakta hai aman siwae iske ke jab palak ne mjhe choda tab wo pregnant the aman, she was carrying my child aman'
'Mom, did you know? Why didn't you tell me mom?'
'What do you want to hear ricky? Yehi ke she sacrificed everything she had for your happiness just because she thought that you can't live without your family and yeh ke uske hote hue tum hamare sath kabhi nahe reh sakte the...so she let go of you'
