i actually really like ananya and tbh her being the perfect girl for rithwik is a lot better explained than his feelings for palak. in any other circumstance, if this was real life, theyd have as good a marriage as any other rich ppl arranged marriage. she emphasizes the trust because rithwik has never been in monogamous relationships. to make it crystal that she doesnt care about his past as long as she has his present. most arranged marriages dont have love to start out but they have something thats tested by time- friendship. so in her head, she has nothing to be wary of. she doesnt go looking for reasons to be insecure and seems quite comfortable in her self-confidence. thats a rare trait in a 2nd heroine.
idk why theres a need to bring her down to make palak the number 1 in rithwik's life. they're going with the whole 'love just happens' trope so its fine for her and rithwik to call things off for rithwik to pursue palak. i hope she can atleast accept that if not be ttly cool with it. most humanbeings in her position would not be just- ya sure about it, especially since shes explicitly asked him if he was ok with everything. its on rithwik now- how he handles things. being family first is good but not if you are playing house of cards with someone else's life- both palak and ananya- just to please an inconsequential desire of your family's (his marrying palak or ananya doesnt have any bad life long consequences for them tbh). she is also someones family, someones sister (his best friend's) and daughter (his dad's best friend's), his own bff and someone his family cares a great deal for. his life is for him to do as he pleases but not hers. his decisions are in bad taste and poor judgement.
