Hola buddies!! See i've tuned this into a fiction as some of you have requested and i didn't want this concept to waste.So here is the first part and treat the earlier part as prologue.Continue this story at your own risk ,i cannot guarantee a happy ending. *Not proof read*
Chapter 1
He stared at the guitar pick that he was currently holding, a customized one.Electric blue colored with 'I love Army Doctors' and a big 'S' printed on either side , it only held the most beautiful memories of his life.All of the other things seemed to left in past except for those memories.Those certain memories that never left his heart hovered on his mind too.
"Cadet Soumya reporting ,Sir"
She practically spitted 'Sir' on his face.She was exactly 5 minutes early ,just to show him off.
"Ahh ,you are early ,good"
He cheekily commented and reached his hand to pull her cheeks only to be rewarded with slap on his arm and her glare.
"Now ,Run 150 laps around the ground"
"But no one's still here"
She asked confused.It was too early for her to think ,she was barely standing on her feet.
"Aww ,its so cute of you to think I won't do anything after Yesterday's incident.You clearly disrespected me"
He smirked at her as he watched her face turn to bright shade of red.
"You didn't exactly have your name with rank printed on your forehead and i don't think i have the ability to know anyone's rank just by looking at their face.So how would I know ,you are lieutenant?"
She sassed back.She picked up her best poker face while saying that.
"Do i look like I care? Its too early to deal with your sarcasm"
He questioned pulling up an innocent face to provoke her further.'This girl really has a short fuse" He thought.
"Now Run along before i make that 200 laps"
He commanded ,shooing her off.
"You know Army Doctors have higher ranking that lieutenants"
She asked and smirked as the thought entered her mind.In two years she'll be joining as army doctor, So she'll definitely have higher rank than him.
"You aren't yet an Army Doctor and when you'll become one I'll be already promoted to Captain or maybe Major"
He mused in , breaking all her thoughts.
"No matter what you do.Once a senior, Always a senior"
"Rudra ,what the heck are you doing here?"
A strong, masculine voice pulled him out of his reverie.He looked at source of the voice only to find Squadron leader Ranveer better known as Eagle.
"Why aren't you marching with your troop, Major?'
"We are leaders.We don't have to march with them ,we just have to guide them"
Rudra said, his lips curving to form his ever charming smirk.He raised an eyebrow at Ranveer and said
"Did I hear a order in your voice ?"
"Arghh, I can't believe we are same in ranking.I miss being your senior.It was fun to order you around"
Ranveer whined playfully , while had a triumph smile on his face.
"That was 6 years ago,Eagle.You poor Air Force people, got only 1 promotion since than and I got two"
Rudra teased him wiggling his eyebrows at him and made a hand gesture of saying two.In all this commotion ,the guitar pick fell from.his hand.He bent down to pick it up.Waves of sadness and pain again engulfed him.
"Isn't that the same pick ,she gave you ?"
Ranveer asked, sympathy and sadness filled his eyes.It felt like a huge burden on his shoulder to see him.like this yet unable to help.
."Yes it is"
Rudra replied dejectedly.
"Still haven't got a trace of her ? Its like she just disappeared off the face if the Earth"
Ranveer commented.
" Yet you won't help me"
Rudra cannot help but blurt that.He still was upset about it that he won't help him find her.Ranveer on the other hand was caught up in an another ugly situation whether to keep the promise that he made a long ago or to help this friend.Rudra did have an idea that something was definitely holding him up from helping.
"Atleast your girlfriend is better than you.She is been helping me ever since"
Rudra teased him just to get out of that uncomfortable conversation.Her topic is still a taboo for him.
"Girlfriend? She is not my girlfriend"
Ranveer spluttered out, redness creeping upto his neck.It was Rudra's old trick to get him flustered by bringing Prinku in their conversations.
" How dumb can you be.Even after knowing her for straight 8 years, you haven't popped up the question yet.If i were you I would have done that a long ago and never let her go"
Rudra started in a teasing tone but his own pain in his voice soft at the end of the sentence.
"I did recall you doing the exact opposite of what you claimed right now"
Ranveer blurted off without thinking.His temper flared up at Rudy's claims.Both of them.made mistakes but Rudy's did the final attack.Guilt burned Ranveer's throat as he came to realize at what he just said.He looked helplessly at Rudra who had his eyes closed.Rudra's brain exploded with the painful memories ,his sins.
"Did you saw the list ? Commander are sending a troop of Army doctors and engineers"
Ranveer tried to change the subject with his pathetic attempt but fortunately it worked as Rudra's ear perked up at this news.
"I don't understand what are we really doing here in the middle of nowhere.We were supposed to at mission"
Rudra complained.He was irritated of being here and doing nothing.
"Major, We are trying to keep peace between countries.You know about the war that broke out in Iraq,which isn't very far away from here"
Ranveer said easing his irritation.He knew Rudra wasn't irritated of being here but what irritated him was being not able to do anything.
"Guess we'll have to welcome the people with knifes and needles"
Rudra wrinkled his nose as he said.He still harboured immense dislike against doctors.
"Ahh When will your fear of Doctors will grow out. Please don't do anything ridiculous when they come.Every single army doctor that you've worked with has complained about you saying 'Major is arrogant'.Why you must dislike all doctors"
Ranveer gravely said although a flash of amusement in his voice was quite evident.He knew it very well that Rudra dislikes Army Doctors.
"I just like one doctor in the world but i doubt i'll ever see her again"
Rudra softly said imagining her face,her beautiful face. Shaking his head he tried to shook away all of her thoughts and continued.
"Btw I did notice a strange thing ,the troop of Army doctors didn't have a leader as all are ranked as Captain."
"Atleast they all have lower rank than us"
Ranveer said and suddenly remembered something
"I thought you didn't saw the list"
"I did and also noticed a special name under the title Chief Engineer- Priyanka Singh"
Rudra wiggled his eyebrows at him while saying.

Just to clear off a few things..The story moved 8 years from the prologue.Rudra got promoted twice while Ranveer once
