Caught between a rock and a hard place!!!

Hey guys, this is my first time posting to this forum, so hello!

I'm a die hard fan of IB and have just finished watching the first episode of DBO. I've got to say, I feel like crying. Positive points first:

1) The hotness that is Om has been maintained.
2) love Gauri's character, she's so cute!
3) Rahul Dev is AMAZING!!

But then...

1) they've butchered Om!!! How can someone do emotional, broken and complex turn into that? Om was never this ruthless...otherwise he would have just followed in Tej's footsteps.
2) how is our Om justifying putting so many small shops out of business for his own gain?? how??
3) As much as I love Gauri's character, it reminds me too much of Khushi in IPKKND...is this what the makers were after? Why not have a new concept.

I feel like I'm stuck. I have to watch this show as I don't want to miss anything...especially if the two shows are combining after three months. But, I don't want to see them re hash the same stuff over and over again.

Can someone please bring back our deep, sentimental and absolutely delicious Om? 😭 😭

I'm ok with it.. I do feel it's out of character for Om but then again people will do anything when it comes to their loved ones. I think he is hardening himself coz he has to get those 100 Crores to throw on swetlana's face. Also I think this will prove to Tej that Om has what it takes but he had chosen a different path for himself. I think he also wants to spite his father. I think gauri will help him rediscover love and his art.
I wish gauri didn't have such a hard core bhojpuri accent. I hope they tone it down a lil bit or help Om educate her.. that would be an interesting track also with nayi Soch that's it's never too late to learn.

Would a Tamilian stop speaking Tamil in his vicinity because he is educated? Would a Gujarati stop speaking Gujarati after becoming educated?? So why would a Bhojpuri stop speaking in Bhojpuri after getting educated??

And my comment on education was nothing to do with her being bhojpuri and having the bhojpuri accent.. it was to do with the fact that Gauri herself said she is only a fifth standard pass.

I just thought it would be nice to have Om tell her the importance of an education. I personally would like her slightly more refined to match Om. Thats again just my personal preference. But that being said I am willing to see where the writers take the story

Anyhow whether or not you like, she did nothave a Bhojpuri accent, secondly your punctuation marks were so placed that it meant that Om should educate her as she had a Bhojpuri accent, thirdly whether or not you like a person aught to have the accent of the region s/he has been born into and BTW, yes Gauri is 5th pass, but it doesn't mean that she doesn't know the importance of education

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't like it, I did. I just don't like how they've completely changed Om's character. I understand about ruthless etc but the rudeness which they are showing in the precap is so out there. Throwing money into people's faces? Ruining their livelihood? It's so not right.

As for Gauri, regardless of her accent and education, I really like her character. I'm just disappointed that it's so similar to previous Gul characters. Also, since when has Gul ever concentrated on well educated female leads?
