Meet Chander's version of a perfect Alka |
It's not hidden that Chander feels strongly for Alka Tiwari right from their childhood days. He hasn't yet mustered the courage to confess his feelings to her. |
But as love empowers your mind, soul and heart and travels you to your dream world, simple and rooted Chander too keeps shuttling between his real and dream world. He dreams of Alka but in an avatar that even surpasses her imagination. In his dream, the lad will see Alka in a desi avatar with a plat dressed up like a simpleton (too much to ask Alka). The duo will perform to Rafta rafta, a complete romantic number which will see the couple share a simple yet sizzling chemistry. This is an outdoor shoot at Bhor where Chander and Alka are driving a tractor for the sequence. Chander who didn't know how to drive a tractor didn't have the time to practice it as the director wanted to shoot for the day was ending. Though one expected Chander to manage the drive without much practice, it was Alka who surprised the crew and cast by sitting behind the wheels neverthelss to say that she drove the tractor for her fun. She did manage to drive it remarkably well and impressed all those who thought females can't drive heavy vehicles. Says she, "I had fun as I got to drive the tractor. Ofcourse it wasn't shown but I was happy to try my hand at it. I just told them that I am going to drive it and before they could say anything to me, I had pressed the accelerator." The dream sequence was full of fun and not to ignore some unforseen accidents. Just when everything was going smoothly with the crane shot turning out to be beautiful and director announced cut, the breaks refused to work and the tractor dragged the sound cables along with it. That's when Alka and Chander worked in unity and stepped together on the brake and managed to bring the tractor to a halt. An excited Alka says, "We shot the dream sequence day before yesterday and had a gala time shooting it. I was dressed up like a typical Indian girl just like how Chander would want to see his Alka as. He dreams of me doing pooja in a temple with him and do all that his ideal girlfriend or wife would do. With this dream song, viewers will come to know his point of view of his ideal woman. It's been captured beautifully. When we were younger, Chander had hung me to a tree and ran away. We visit the same place in his dream sitting on a swing with him." The sequence proved to be the most interesting for the protagonist as she got to portray two different facets of one character. Currently seen in a modern and an upmarket girl, Alka will be seen as a simpleton in the dream. "I had fun doing the song sequence as I got to play a different avatar altogether. I think I look beautiful in Indian attires and was even complimented by my co-actors and crew for my look", states the girl. The couple wasn't alone while shooting for the song sequence as Alka's on-screen brother, Abhishek stayed back on the sets to cheer his co-actors during the sequence. And as expected, the song sequence turned out beautifully with Abhishek's support off-screen who can't imagine Chander as his sister's beau. The actress feels that it's important to infuse Bollywood numbers to convey the story. Talking about the growing importance of Bollywood numbers in television soaps Alka quips, "Songs are powerful than dialogues and you can say a lot through just one song. It's difficult to compose different songs when you are making a daily as it consumes a lot of time and energy. In addition to this it's easy to relate to popular Bollywood numbers. A hit score can always draw more viewers to the show." Given a chance Alka would love to shake her leg to the popular romantic song Tera hone laga hoon from Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahaani and her all time favourite movie that brings the twinkle in her eyes are Parinda and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Catch the two come together in Chander's dream as he picturise modern Alka just the way he would like her to be for the rest of his life on Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 pm.
