But Saroj did end up having a realisation after she destroyed the rangoli. That's why I think it's realistic. She was blind in her rage, irrationality and all the other bottled up emotions. She destroyed it. Afterwards, it did seem to hit her what she had done.
I'm sure there are other examples in films and television, not the exact way of course, but where a religious person takes out their anger on their religious symbols or their God. When it's religious symbols, they do end up sometimes destroying it or almost destroying it.
The one example that comes to my mind right now is Khamoshi. It comes to my mind because that ending scene is so poignant that it's difficult to forget. But I'm not talking about the ending scene, but the earlier one connected to that last shot. The father and how he took his anger, grief and all out disappointment on the cross. Granted like I said that's a symbol. But previously he was very religious. And even after that, he was still religious actually.
In this case, Saroj isn't even thinking of the religious aspect of it, But I don't think it's impossible for very spiritual/religious people to also deliberately lash out in a similar manner at God. So if that's possible, I don't see Saroj's action in her blind rage and nervous breakdown to be off.
