Saroj from the first episode itself is shown as a egoistic lady.

actually she knos hw baapji has put MOHAN in immense pressure dat he had 2 say yes. so as her life starts wid MOHAN nd ends at him, she doesn't see ne oder thing , right or wrong wen she thinks dat her son is being put into trouble!!

And yea i loved their dance both were fab 😍 and chemistry was oozing

Also when i define a typical gala man for me that is baapji, who has no respect for women and considers their opinion is worth nothing ... as for Mohan saying "my way or high way" i don't think thats a gala quality but rather how all independent, a little spoilt guys think, don't think it is a gala thing ... because gala men are baapji, bhanu, both in their own way don't respect women ... baapji cause he does not value them, bhanu because he is spineless ... and i just don't want mohan to be either. As for my way or highway thats such a common thing for most guys of Mohan's age and don't think its to do with him being Gala parivar ka beta

And even if i accept baapji is after saroj cause of her "retaliation" why he dislikes even narmada, she may be a little weird but i don't think they have shown her do anything bad yet? Even though i feel anyone will retaliate if stuck in such a situation

You said it

@Purvi nope I wasnt throwing guns 😆 I was just stating how I personally find him different and distinct from the Galas ...because he isnt shown to disrespect women and thats the major bad quality of all the Gala men ...And as Nads said my way or highway is not typical of only men like the Galas; its the way most of us think ... So until he respects women and their dignity he is no close to rest of the Gala men for me 😆 And I hope CVs would care to keep him different because how ever he might appear for others from outside, his heart has a certain care and respect and it does make him stand apart

I still don't understand what Saroj hopes to accomplish by throwing Kastur out. It didn't make sense then, and it makes even less sense now.

They are going to be married. Married. (By Mohan's own choice, too. Because he put himself in a position where he now has to deal with the loan sharks. He was fine going and blasting Kastur even after knowing about Pradeep's financing including Kastur, and after hearing Baapji saying he has to pay Jitu back.)

As I said before, is she planning for her son to get divorced? Good luck with how that will go over in the families and community. And does she really think so little of her son that she thinks/hopes that he would be the type of guy that can and will easily just throw out a girl he married for money?

Yes, he is marrying her for money, but it's a whole different thing if you then just decide to end the marriage/throw her out--whatever.

This is a girl's life. A girl who really has done nothing wrong accept not question a few things. Okay yeah, she made a dumb mistake at the jewelry shop. But really, all that did give Saroj a justification--not cause.

And Saroj now thinks Kastur and Mohan have been going around doing the 'raas leela' Well guess what Saroj? It takes two to tango. But whatever, Would she have really been so blindly angry if the engagement was to Nikitta or some other girl she had approved. She would still chastise, sure--but in reality she would've never bothered going to the dressing room to stop them from meeting.

And the fact that she thinks they now have more physical compatibility, should actually give her pause in being hell bent on destroying the marriage. But nope.

Unfortunately I am finding CVs trying to manipulate Saroj's char already ... I can justify that she just wants Mohan to get out of this marriage mess SOMEHOW ... cos a mom is a mom afterall and she can go to such an extent to see her son happy and settled ... But I cant justify her WAYS of doing it ...I cant really see through the reasons of her SO much of hatred towards Kastur ...Ok she is uneducated and she blamed Saroj for stealing so a sorta dislike towards her is expected ...Now too she thought Kastur kissed him so a lil more of dislike is also understandable (but she should have listened to what atleast Mohan was trying to say if not listen to Kastur) ...but now CVs are taking it beyond the limit ...and they arent even caring to give valid reasons is what I am more upset about ...But I guess they are just gearing up towards the saas-bahu drama coming up ...I am sure there IS gonna be some drama between them; I just still hope they keep that in limits and dont make it go overboard

I agree I hope it doesn't go overboard. See I don't have a problem with her trying to STOP the marriage. She could've done so. She tried to do it by being sly. If she hadn't lied and just let Kastur get to her own conclusion, and not interfering in Kastur's thought process, Kastur may have ended it. That is, if Mohan didn't succeed in somehow convincing Kastur otherwise--which is obviously very much possible.

She could still somehow try to stop the marriage by telling Kastur. But see, she doesn't want to do that. Her plan failed, and it's her choice to not admit Mohan's shortcoming.

She can do whatever she wants to try to stop the marriage from happening. But she's not really doing that. She's planning on making Kastur's life AFTER the marriage. Which is just 😕

But at the same time I do agree with others who have mentioned that Saroj herself probably has her own faults apart from Baapji's suffocating household which exacerbates the situation a LOT.

Also, this is something I've been wondering for a while.

Mohan Gala is supposed to bring about social change. What, when, where and how? I really wonder what the creatives could possibly have in mind, if anything. I know we the audience don't know and all we've been told is a man who will bring about social change.

It's a serious question. Is it supposed to be social change in India? In his family? Family, makes sense. India... I don't know, what is there in India that's ripe for a mass social movement and change other than corruption and graft?

Almost every other issue is pocketed in different areas and classes. And they already have activists, lawyers. There's really no large encompassing issue for a mass movement and reform outside corrupt politics. Women's rights, yes is an issue. But again... how is Mohan Galla the one who will bring it about in the country when it's not matter of law but a matter of custom which varies all across India.

And in a somewhat evil manner. may I add that the show itself is called Dharampatni and keeps on repeating the word and hits us over the head with the virtues of a dutiful wife and how a dutiful wife should be. And gives us dialogues on how a woman is only complete after fulfilling the stages of 'Dharampatni'.

I think CV are adding unnecessary misunderstanding between Kastur & Saroj but with that being said her reaction goes with the character. When you hate someone you never give them a chance to allow yourself to see them in a different light. We learned Saroj distant for the Desai family before the rishta. I won't be surprise later if we learned Saroj was always head strong and issues with authority even with her parents. That's probably why her father arrange her marriage to the Galla thinking with baapji her attitude would change. These characters are like onions on this show CV are peeling them layer by layer.

likarsh i think saroj did know it takes two to tango and that is why she blasted mohan too 🤣 Thats the only thing she actually did understand correctly LOL

As for her hatred for Kastur i dunno ... CVs r just trying to make it a saas bahu saga which i am so going to hate. And its also true when you are unhappy or feel cheated or are angry you loose sense of right and wrong and this is what is happening to her.

As for Mohan and social change i think it will be in society (not India but some small part of India) and i can bet it would have to do with status of women 🤣
