abhimaan- self pride. In English that sounds bad, so I guess it's better say that the meaning is more like self-respect. But literally it's self-pride, and there is a significant difference between the literal meanings.

Harshad was in U, Me aur Tv on 24th Sept'11 ... They didnt interview him, just showed offscreen moments of the shoot while voiceover was on ... voiceover said mohan hai dhokhebaaz :@@@ (sue you u, me aur tv :@) cos kastur really loves him (toh mohan kya kare bechara :( whats his fault) Then they said we had showed some days back that mohan stole money in his own house .. and now he is marrying kastur just for money ...they said mohan hai business-minded ughhh :@ then they said he is gurubhai of tv and the show is copy of guru (they better get their eyes checked :@ they need to WATCH the show to analyse this way :@) ...and then mohan will ultimately fall for kastur (ye toh hume pata hai :P LOL)
