Oh, yeah. I haven't even watched that many serials, but I've seen many with the girls addressing the guy formally, and then have the moment where the name is said is a big breakthrough moment.
I think Saroj calls Bhanu by his name. Narmada probably calls Vipul by his name as well, since they seem to be in a pretty equal relationship.
I mean don't get me wrong. The last thing I want to hear is 'Kasturjee' to go along with 'Mohanjee' throughout the show. But it's bothersome that a lot of the couples I've seen always have the females in the position of formally addressing, while the male doesn't.
In this case though, I get it since Mohan knew Kastur while he was a kid (plot holes not withstanding). And she's younger. So he wouldn't recipocrate the 'ji'. Plus he's just not the type. 😆
Like Rani says, I hope Mohan tells her to drop the suffix.
(Interestingly enough, I don't think Khanak ever called Shaan formally in Rang Badalti, just Shaantanu. And she was a Gujarati village girl.)
