Recap of Thursday's Epi
Mohan shows Baapji his degree, Baapji is secretly pleased. He agrees to have a party thrown for Mohan and excitedly everyone starts preparing. Kastur spends the entire day trying to decide what to wear and finally buys a very pretty yellow-and-green lehenga. Mohan arrives but Kastur hides away, too shy to even look. He is introduced to a set of friends that Saroj makes his acquaintance with, and he starts a subtle flirting game with Nikita, one of the daughter's of the lady he's being introduced to. In the meantime, Jitu and Shardha seem shocked by the change in him, but Jassuben and Mohan warm up to each other. In the meantime, Jassuben tags Kastur along so that she can finally try talking to him, and introduces Kastur to Mohan. A romantic aankh-micholi is played by the two towards the end of the episode.
Short Update
1. Mohan stretches his hand out for Kastur to shake, but Kastur greets him with a namaste, stammers Jai Shree Mohan (yes, you heard right 🤣) and runs away, blushing.
2. Mohan and Nikita start talking, and Saroj sees this. She talks to Bhanu about the two of them and wishes to set up a match between the two. Bhanu sadly reflects on the promise made to Baapji.
3. Kastur tries to talk to Mohan but can't because of all the girls talking to him. She even sees Mohan flirting with Nikita.
4. Baapji arrives at the party and all the family members start tensing up. Baapji informs Bhanu that he has arrived to announce the MohUr alliance.
5. Baapji meets the Desai's, is impressed by Kastur, and irritated by Baa.
6. THE PERFORMANCE, ladies and gentlemen 🥳
7. Baapji superangry, Kastur superheartbroken 🥺
8. Baapji realises that the drinks being served are not sherbet, but alcohol 🤣
9. Baapji confronts Mohan.
Detailed Update:
Part 1:
This epi starts where the last one left off...with the cute MohUr aankh-micholi scene 😍 We NOW get to hear what Jassuben had been saying all the while when Mohan and Kastur were busy making goopy-eyes at each other 😆. She relates to Mohan how as kids, the both of them used to play together a lot and have lots of fun, and that whenever he won by cheating, she used to irritate him by calling him phekuchand (a person who is showing off unnecessarily).
Jassuben then asks him if he recognizes Kastur. Extremely amused, Mohan replies that he won't be able to know if he recognizes her unless he has seen her, and through this statement Baa realises that Kastur has been hiding behind her all this time. Baa tries to pull her to her side but Kastur nervously refuses and stays where she is, looking at the floor all the while. Mohan grins, and asks Baa if Kastur's tendency to lower her eyes is a habit or a disease (Yeh lo...add THAT to the looong list of Mohan's classic one-liners too 😆). Baa laughs it off by saying it's their sanskaar to lower one's eyes in front of the to-be bridegroom, but never gets the chance to complete her sentence, because Kirti Kaka spots Baa and asks her to come with him to have something to eat. Baa leaves, leaving Mohan and Kastur alone!
Mohan extends a hand to Kastur (Piya Bhaawri playing in the bg 😳) and says hi, and Kastur s-l-o-w-l-y tries to reach out her hand for the handshake, but chickens out at the last minute and gives him a shy namaskar instead (Mohan at this point gives this look as if to say...um, are you going to start wishing me when it's finally doomsday or something? 🤔).
Kastur manages to stammer Jai...(Mohan slightly cocks his head towards her...)
Kastur manages to say Jai Shree...(Mohan's still waiting 😆 Leans his head in closer 😳)
Aaand SCORE!! Kastur says...JAI SHREE MOHAN!!
(I died laughing at the way that came out...and how unintentionally funny it was...Aasiya seriously, this act rocked! 🤣)
Mohan looks surprised and faintly says 'what', nor understanding why she said what she did, by which time Kastur does what Kastur likes to do best: RUN!! (I swear...this girl should try out for the London Olympics next year, the way she's going 😆). She stops at a pillar, breathing heavily, not believing the little bubble of joy within her 😃
Part 2:
In this scene, Saroj spots Mohan talking casually to Nikita, and smiles at them. She moves to Bhanu and asks him to look in their direction, telling him that they look wonderful as a couple. She tells Bhanu that one dream of theirs - to get Mohan educated in London - was fulfilled, and the second - to fix a suitable match for him - is now necessary. She tells Bhanu that the girl is a daughter of a friend of her's, and that if he allows, she will start arranging the match. At this Bhanu looks shocked, but resigns himself to not reacting, and once Saroj leaves, wonders sadly at the fact that Mohan's match has already been fixed with Kastur.
Kastur spots Mohan talking to Nikita, and smiles on seeing him. Her younger brother pops up and teases her, telling her that just staring at Mohan won't do any good, and that she's a darpok 😆 Kastur smartly answers back by saying she isn't afraid of Mohan, she just doesn't want to disturb him (yeah...and I can belly-dance 😆) and is Mohan a tiger who'll eat her up? The two argue a bit, until Kastur finally forces her brother to leave and stares at Mohan some more. She finally musters up the courage to walk towards him when suddenly she sees his hand on Nikita's shoulder and feels like an intruder in their midst.
The scene shifts to Bhanu, Vipul and Kirti welcoming a guest. The guest compliments them on the party, and Vipul tells him that he's the one who arranged it all. He points to the juggler in the bar area, stating that he got him specially from Canada...and that the drinks are imported too - the vodka's Russian, the wine's Swiss and the beer is ready for them to take. Hearing this Kirti drags Vipul to the counter reminding him of Baapji's instructions - no sharaab, shabaab OR kabab (Seems like 'no kabab' was the only rule they were following 🤣). Vipul calms Kirti down and tells him to have a drink, but on spotting Baapji, poor Vipul spits his own drink out 😆
Baapji appears at the doorway, the hands on his walking stick shaking furiously, and glares angrily at one of the miniskirted girls in the party. He complains that the English have left, but have left a lot of chamchas behind too 😆. Bhanu rushes over to Baapji, and asks him how he's here, almost slipping up and mentioning that he wasn't supposed to come. Baapji gives him a withering look, and tells him that he has come to announce the MohUr rishta.
Saroj spots the two talking and gets suspicious, and speculates that they are talking about something that's being kept a secret from her. Bhanu is nervous, because he doesn't know how Mohan and Saroj will react to this news. Baapji in the meantime goes to Jitu's table and greets him. Kastur touches Baapji's feet, and Baapji blesses her, impressed at her adherence to sanskaar (Kastur...pleeease, whenever you get married PLEASE don't end up batting for the Baapji team 😭)
Baapji then starts searching for Mohan, and is about to talk to him when Baa appears out of nowhere to indulge in small talk with him. Jassuben compliments him on the party and asks him how he managed to allow them to hold such a grand one for Mohan's return. She answers her own question and says he must have bent the rules for Mohan (yes, Jassuben, and I'm the Queen of England 😆). She then tells Baapji that he is exactly like her in some ways (at which Baapji gives her a look that would have reduced an ordinary mortal to a pile of ashes 🤣) and then starts complimenting him on his masalas, advising him to add more ginger and cardamom in his chai-masala (it's worth it to look at his face here, I think Baapji's met his match in Jassuben, he sees positively scared of her 😆), is about to give him another bit of advice when Baapji orders for a 'sharbat' for Jassuben.
On the other hand, poor Kastur is still waiting for a chance to talk to Mohan, and is wondering why the girls he is talking to seem to never leave, stating that the girls around him are acting as if they've never seen a boy like him before (well...Kastur baby...it's MOHAN!! Of course no one's ever seen a boy like him before 😆). In the process of saying this, Kastur smiles softly, and admits that her Mohanji is surely one in a million 😳
Part 3:
Ahem ahem...and HERE'S where the fun starts 🥳
The dance troupe starts a dance to the tune of I Hate Love Stories, and Baapji is seen glaring while everyone else seems to enjoy the performance completely. Baa is seen having the time of her life (I think sharbat ke nashe mein...😆) Mohan and Nikita enjoy watching the performance, and Kannu looks like he'd want the slightest excuse to burn the dance floor (waise, his moves WERE pretty good...jaisa Viku waisa Kannu I see 🤣). Even Saroj, Bharat and Veena seem to be having the time of their lives.
The girls from the troupe grab hold of Mohan and get him to join in. Initially Kastur smiles (Who wouldn't...it's MOHAN...and he's DANCING...😍😍). He removes his jacket, loosens his tie and starts jiving like a complete pro. Baa seems to be a fan of his moves 😆, Kastur seems to be a little lost about what in the world he's doing, and Baapji looks like he'd happily like to kill Mohan then and there. THEN he pulls Nikita in...(my God...he's QUITE obvious about how attracted to her he is! I'm surprised no one else had a problem!). Kastur watches on, feeling terribly sad, picking the chemistry and the vibes between the two, and noticing that Mohan has indeed changed in more ways than one... (the dance was FABULOUS, it was HOT, but it was also rather short...there were quite a few good moves there that were seen on SBS that really didn't make it to the final cut Kastur's expressions however, were extremely fitting...keeping in the irony that on one side it's fun and laughter and on the other side just grief and shock and confusion)
Mohan dances like he was born on the dance floor, and at the end gives a challenging look (which some of us think is directed at Baapji, in case Mohan is aware that Baapji has arrived) to someone whom we don't see. Everyone praises Mohan, and Kastur looks on, very very hurt (haww don't worry honey, he'll be yours eventually otherwise we wouldn't have a serial to watch! 😆).
Baapji decides to take a 'sharbat' to drink, but finds out from the waiter that it really is alcohol. He turns and screams at the two brothers, who try to scramble for an explanation. At this point, Mohan takes a glass of wine, while Kastur watches, shocked. Baapji sees this too, and moves forward to scream at him. The episode ends on Mohan's surprised face, seeing Baapji, just before he could even sip from the glass.
Precap: A confused, hurt and crying Kastur tells her mother that a match between the two of them would be impossible because his way of living is very different from her's and that she doesn't think she can really become a suitable wife for Mohan.

Amazingly executed, racy and fast...and one of the most fun episodes I've witnessed in the serial so far! 😃 Fabulous episode!!
