Hi 😃
Whatever you have said about Rajat as an actor is 100% true. 👏 He is talented, hardworking kid and has brightest future compare to any of his contemporiers..
But I can't agree on other things.. it's obvious that you are diehard RT fan and that's why you are looking at Indian TV scenario from this angle.. 😊 but believe me it's really not like that.
Historical serials getting popular on Indian TV has nothing to do with RT's rise. Because history, mythology, costume dramas are all time favourite subjects of indian people.
B. R Chopra's Mahabharat and Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan used to hold entire India to standstill... roads used to be vacant while these 2 shows were on air. It was almost like a curfew situation.. I am talking about 1988... Rajat wasn't even born then.. 😳 All the stars from these 2 shows were worshiped like God in those days. People used to actually perform pooja to their photos.. There was news of one that one lady got married to photo of an actor who played Karan in Mahabharat, actor was Pankaj Dheer. 😃 Each and every Indian household was hooked to these 2 shows, from small kids to grandparents.
Sanjay Khan's Tipu Sultan and The Great Marathas were hugely popular, There were many other historical, mythological tv shows also from different production houses. Whateve NDTV is showing now, in Chhutti Time for kids, were old serials which were hugely popular.
I can only say that in those days media was not so powerful and wide spread like today.. no internet, no youtube to upload vids, or no public forums to discuss those shows for 24 hours. but today, because of hundreds of news channels, internet, even smallest thing gets too much attention and appears to be really big.
Whatever we are getting today on indian tv is what you guys called as recycled.. 😆
BTW.. I am really proud to be RT fan..just because he is a fine actor.. not because he has changed anything or brought revolution or something like that.. 😕
As an individual, he deserves everything he has achieved so far.. and many more to come. 👏 .. I wish him best of everything.. kiddo deserves every bit of his success. 👏
hi there! 😊
i am happy that u brought in these points 😊... i am aware of the commercial success that Ramayan and Mahabharata gathered 20 years back... i am also aware of the fact that streets used to be vacant wen these shows would be on air... and i am also aware of the godly status given to the actors who played Ram, Sita, Krishna, etc.. in those times. But i am not saying that RT is responsible for all that.. he was not even born then... i am only talking of this century.. in the recent times no one dared to make a historical series against saas-bahu dramas.. my article starts with talking about the trend in Indian Television from the year 2000. In the present century, saas-bahu shows brought in a new wave in Indian TV...they were the regining shows... not any historical or mythological show. All the shows which i mentioned have started only after PRC became commercially successful.. and hugely popular. It is not that this shows' success is something small and appearing to be big.. it actually is big. Wen RT was replaced, why would all the media be interested in capturing those moments in the press conference.. why was it a hot topic? Media indulges in only those things which sell... PRC became immensely popular...not only because of the production team's effort.. but also coz of RT's flawless performance.. the show's success was gathered by trps. So i am not wrong in saying that RT and the whole team of PRC, brought in this "change" in the Indian TV... from saas-bahu to history 😊
PRC's success... based totally on the vierwers response to the show, is commendable today..as there too many channels; a lot of variety and options for a viewer to choose from. So much of exposure in the form of forums, media is there, i agree, but even now its the viewers choice where to interact and which show to watch. One cannot disagree with the fact that this trend (history and mytho shows), which you are calling recycled, has been started again only after PRC became hugely popular in this century. No one dared to venture into historical and mythological shows before PRC..😊
Rajat as Prithvi received no special introduction either by the makers or by the media. It was only coz of his performance that his track was extended again and again and again. 😊
