Popular actor Mohit Raina says marriage can wait; clarifies recent rumours surrounding him

Famous for playing Lord Shiva, actor Mohit Raina has been in the news lately for many reasons " from his alleged relationship to his arrogance. In this chat, Mohit clears the air and also talks about his future plans.

It's been two years since Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev went on air. Are you feeling the fatigue of playing the character?

It's been around 524 episodes only. I'm ready for many more years and 1,000 more episodes. I'm looking forward to playing Lord Shiva for a long time.

There are rumours that the show might end in December.

I don't think that's happening as the audience won't let it. They would love to see more stories of Mahadev, and we have many of them lined up.

After playing Lord Shiva, do you worry about getting good offers in the future?

I don't think that way. I'm hopeful that someone will give me good work and a richer character.

People feel that you are an arrogant person. Does that perception bother you?

I've not heard or read anywhere that I'm arrogant. I'm surprised you've heard this. I work 20 hours a day and I have no life beyond work. I go to the gym, then shoot and sleep for a few hours.

Why did you refuse to be part of Mallika Sherawat's show?

That was just a rumour. The channel wouldn't have asked me as they wouldn't have liked to promote their God' like that on another show. Anyway, I am not the kind of person who'd do a reality show. At best, a dance reality show would appeal to me.

But you turned down Nach Baliye too...

That was a rumour too. I would be keen to be part of a dance show, but the only form of dance I know right now is tandav. I'd get out in the first round.

Recently, there was speculation that you would be joining a political party.

Again a rumour. I wouldn't consider joining a political party at this stage. I'm happy acting for now. All these stories have come out in the last few months. I don't think I am that famous to be talked about so much.

There were reports that your mom gets marriage proposals for you.

Till date she hasn't got even one, which is a good thing. I don't want to settle down right now as I won't be able to do justice to a relationship.
