EPIC TV's new show Malikaa is all set to create a

EPIC TV is India first genre specific entertainment GEC, which is primarily focusing on creating epic sagas, recently launched its show 'Malikaa', based on the life of Noor Jehan. The show recently got noticed on its launch ceremony, when lead protagonists Karanvir Sharma aka Jehangir and Charu Shankar or Noor Jehan made an appearance.

Ex-Disney India Head Mahesh Samat spoke about the upcoming historical show, which will be dotted with the romantic liaison of Jehangir and his beautiful wife Mehrunissa aka Noor Jehan. The script will also have the elaborate details about the lives of the leading protagonists, along with the details that mark the history with important events.

The show also will have veteran artists like Uday Tikekar. The actor made headlines when he quit Saurabh Tewary's Do Dil Ek Jaan on Life OK, but bagged the meaty role of 'Emperor Akbar' in 'Malikaa'.

The show is based on Indu Sundaresan's bestselling novel, titled 'The twentieth wife', which talks primarily about Noor Jehan's life. While Charu Shankar will portray a grown up Noor Jehan, the younger Mehrunissa will be played by Jannat Zubair Rahmani of Phulwa fame.

The show will also have Neetha Shetty, who is going to be presented as Man Bai, a Rajput princess, the first wife of Salim aka Jehangir. Although, her liaison with Jehangir will be shown as a political deal, she will fall in love with the prince and despise the concept of his polygamy practices. She will be seen in a challenging role of a drunkard lady.

The show is already making headlines because of Pia Benegal, the daughter of film maestro Shyam Benegal, who has designed elaborate costumes for the epic show. Other than that the show is also looking promising because of the effervescent and beautiful Charu Shankar, who has some big Hollywood names to her kitty.

Charu has worked with directors like Wes Anderson and Mira Nair. Though she is well versed with the dynamics of the Hollywood world, she's still in her nascent stage with Indian silver screen. The actor is all excited to make her debut in the historical saga.
