Happy birthday to Mohit Raina...Mohit Raina- The Lord of Small Screen
Mohit Raina, the actor playing the role of Lord Shiva, in Devon ke Dev-Mahadev, on the Indian channel, Life OK is the best thing to happen for the devotees of Lord Shiva. Mohit not only looks like the Lord Himself, but also performs so well that it seems that Lord Shiva Himself enters his being to connect with the world.
Mohit Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit, joins the list of great artists from the region-Raaj Kumar and Jeewan, both well known for their contribution to the Indian Hindi cinema.
Mohit goes deep into the soul of the character of Lord Shiva, and acts so beautifully through his calm expressive eyes and a captivating dimpled smile, without even uttering a word. And when he speaks in his deep resonating voice, it seems that the Lord Himself is communicating with us.
It is a treat to watch him enact the various shades and moods of Lord Shiva with an ease of a seasoned actor. Mohit is the only one who has been the perfect Shiva for the Indian screen.
He has worked hard on his body, mind and soul to get that perfection that is needed to bring Lord Shiva alive on screen. He transforms from a simple guy to the Lord Himself-which is a miracle for the viewers.
The devotees of Lord Shiva flock around their tellys at eight pm every evening to have a glimpse of Mohit Raina lightening up the screen and their mundane lives.
I have never been hooked up to any serial on the television, except Chanderagupt Maurya, in which Manish Wadhwa brought Chanakya to life.
But Mohit Raina goes a step further with his mesmerising presence and brilliant acting. And today he shined as Lord Krishna with a flute 'Mohit, you are just too good.
My only advice to Mohit, as another Kashmiri Pandit fan is that, keep up this hard work on self and remember to act upon yourself as the great actor Pran did. He did his various characters so well and differently that we never knew what the real Pran looked like, and that is what the real acting is about.
We have Bollywood actors who let their real life persona affect their reel presence, and that's where they go wrong.
Dear Mohit Raina, we wish you all the best in your life and career, and look forward to many more acts of brilliance from you.
Thanks for being the best Lord Shiva on screen.
May the blessings of Lord Shiva show you the true path of life.
