Array Reeti please don't apologize.

See, to repeat something thrice means you mean it seriously. It becomes an oath, you have to follow it/do it. A kind of promise

Why do all shanti mantras end by chanting 'shantih, shantih, shantih' three times? It means that the recitor earnestly hopes for peace.

Same here - when you say Namah Tassyai thrice, you are -what to say- taking an oath to fall at the Goddess, feet.

@ Kadamvari Thanks for the post. It really was the most powerful part of the episode.

To that Goddess (ya devi) who resides in every being in the form of shakti, to that goddess, my namskara.

Why is the namah tassai repeated three times? Generally, whenever a person wanted to reinforce whatever he was saying, to show that he meant it from the bottom of his heart, or while taking pledge, he would repeat it thrice.

Hence the namah tassyai is also chanted thrice.

Thanks for the meaning. Actually, only Tasyai (unto Her) is repeated three times, but Namah is repeated five times! As in - Namah Tasyai Namah Tasyai Namah Tasyai Namo Namah
