- Once Upon a time there was a powerful demon (Rakshas). He was also king of Demon. His name was Rakshas "Jalandhar". This demon was such a powerful that he even defeated god. He started doing his notorious habbit day by day. He destroyed Yagna(holy firing) ,Living home ,Kutis of many sages,Rishi,bhaktas. Sages was very tired due to his notorious habbit.
The demon Jalandhar wife name was Vrinda. Vrinda was devotee of god vishnu but she was sincere to his Demon husband.
Once when demon jalandhar and his wife was discussing in their home. Demon jalandhar said to his wife Vrinda that there is no beautiful women like you in this world. Vrinda said to his husband "If you see wife of god shiva in Kailash" what will happen to you. What is my beautiness in front of her.
Suddenly demon Jalandhar went Kailash(shiva home) with his evil mind. His intention was to capture Mother parvati (god shiva wife).
Demon Jalandhar was Full of his different power. He has power that he can change his body,face duplicate. He can make his duplicate body and face similar to other person. So Demon went Kailash(shiva home) by changing his body similar to god shiva. Demon Jalandhar started walking in Kailash in duplicate form of god shiva.
When demon reach Kailash ,Demon saw mother parvati . At same time mother parvati also saw demon.
Suddenly demon fell down in land when demon saw mother parvati in Kailash. Mother parvati became very afraid after seeing God shiva falling down in Land (demon jalandhar in shiva form).
Mata parvati became very nervous and he prayed to god Vishnu(narayan). God Narayan(vishnu) came in kailash within 1 second when mother parvati prayed to him.
God vishnu saw demon jalandhar . God vishnu said to mother parvati that "Mother he is not god shiva. He is demon name Jalandhar who came in duplicate form . Demon came in Kailash with his bad intention.
Mother Parvati became very angry and Order to god vishnu to search "God Shiva".
All God including god vishnu,Indra ,Pancha mahabhut went out of kailash to search "God shiva"
God vishnu Found God shiva in Kailash mansarovar lake. He was swimming in form of duck. God vishnu,Indra started praying to God shiva. God shiva ask lord maha vishnu intention to visit him in so hurry. Lord vishnu said all incidents to lord shiva about arrival of demon jalandhar in duplicate form of shiva in kailash.
God shiva became very angry and makes his eyes red.
God shiva went to Battle to kill demon Jalandhar. But every time demon Jalandhar was saved with some of the power. The reason behind why god shiva could not win demon jalandhar was Prativrata dharma(chaste) of demon wife Brinda.
After it god shiva order to God vishnu to destroy demon wife vrinda chaste. God vishnu went in vrinda home in form duplicate jalandhar form when her husband was in battle with god shiva.
After it god shiva Killed demon Jalandhar. Vrinda suddenly knew about arrival of god vishnu in duplicate form of his husand "Demon Jalandhar" after her chaste was destroyed.
Vrinda gives curse to God vishnu to be stone,to be grass and to be tree. So saligram stone found in gandaki river is god vishnu himself. It is worshipped in every hindus home. And grass as "Kush" and tree as "Peepal tree". Saligram,kush and peepal tree is symbol of lord narayan.
After it, vrinda surrender herself in fire.
Hence, Vrinda was devotee of god vishnu. God vishnu boon vrinda and changes her as Tulsi plant. God vishnu said to her that you will be worshipped along with me. And Tulsi saligram marriage will also be celebrated by all world.
So , in every hindus house tulsi saligram is worshipped together. Every year tulsi saligram marriage ceremony is also celebrated "Tulsi as wife and Saligram as husband".
