May Goddess Saraswati, who is fair like the Jasmine coloured moon and whose garland is like frosty dew drops, who is adorned with radiant white clothes and on whose beautiful palm and arm rests the Veena, those throne is a white lotus, and who is surrounded and respected by the Gods beginning with Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwar, protect me. I implore Her to totally
remove my laziness and sluggishness .
This shloka used to be an important part of my School's functions, which was remembered some days back during past student's meeting 😊
The next two verses:
"Shuklam bhrama Vichara Sara Paramam
Adhyaam jagat vyaapineem
Veena pustaka dharinim Abhayadam
Jadyanta karapaham
Haste spatika maalikaam vidatateem
Padmasane samsthitam
Vande tam Pareshwari bhagavatim
Buddhi pradam saradam
She who is the repository of the pure Brahma -Vichara
She who is omniscient
She who holds a veena and pustaka and removes all fear
She who puts an end to the darkness caused by ignorance
She has a sphatika mala in her hands and
Is seated on a lotus
I bow to such a Pareshwari, Bhagavati
Sharada, who bestows intellect.
