The lines i hear most often is Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudcha varshi jadi ya. Common to Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai. Lovely post.

I have another question. We know that Durga puja celebrates Ma Durga's victory over Mahishashur. Which event does Ganesh Chaturthi commemorate?

Ganesh Chaturti, or Vinayakar Chaturthi, popularly known as Ganapati Festival is the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Utsav falls on the fourth day of waxing phase of moon (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu month of Bhadrapad (August-September).

@Vrish-we are making our own chaturthi thread!

sometimes the CC's make a thread too...but we are planning one very diffrent from the one they may be making!

last time we had made one for Shivratri and they made one too..

but we are making a very diffrent one from them...

the more the merrier!
