• Kartikeya returns to Kailash and catches the ball while Ganesh is playing w/ Nandi & the Ganas
• The 2 brothers hug, and then meet their parents. They decide to have a private family get together comprising of just them & the Ganas.
• Indra decides to spoil this as well, and against the advise of Brihaspati, decides to send Parashurama to go and crash their party
• Kartikeya tells Ganesh, 'Look, you've been doing security duties here, and even lost your head over it, but now that I'm here, let me take over for a while.' Ganesh refuses, but Kartikeya tells him that it's an order, so Ganesh has no choice
• Kamasura - who's now Kartikeya's spy (see pg 17 for the story of his birth 😆) tells Kartikeya that Parashurama is coming @ the behest of Indra
• Parashurama arrives, and demands to meet Mahadev. Kartikeya asks him what pressing need he has, and Parashurama claims that he has the right to barge in whenever he likes
• Kartikeya tells him that today, there is a private family function open to only the family and Ganas, and that he'd simply have to return the next day. The family too has its rights, and outsiders can't crash it simply on their whims. He tells Parashurama to go and tell Indra that his mission has failed
• Parashurama gets furious and attacks Kartikeya. The 2 fight long and hard, and Kartikeya manages to wound Parashurama w/ his vel
• Finally, Parashurama hurls his ax @ Kartikeya, but he does a somersault and successfully ducks it. Unfortunately, Ganesh arrives, and the ax takes out one of his tusks
• Everyone is furious - Mahadev, Parvati, Nandi, Bhrigni, Himavan and everyone else
• Parvati takes the form of Durga and threatens Parashurama. Himavan tells him not to dare ever set foot in the Himalayas. Kartikeya curses him that he'll have 3 disciples who'll fight on the side of evil in a war and have to be killed by trickery. The Ganas start throwing bhang @ Parashurama, and very soon, he's drenched in bhang
• Mahadev is also furious and is about to open his third eye to incinerate Parashurama. Just then, Vishnu appears and begs Mahadev not to do it
• Parvati is furious w/ Vishnu and tells him that he always blindly sides w/ Indra's machinations, and would now have to pay a price. From this day onwards, he's no longer her brother and can no longer claim to be close to her
• Parvati also tells him that the reason he goes about doing what he does is that he doesn't have any feelings as a mother. So she tells him that if he wants Parashurama to be spared, Vishnu would have to give birth to one of Mahadev's sons, just like she did
• Vishnu smiles, and agrees, and Parashurama is shocked to hear that and begs him to let Shiva destroy him. But Parvati tells him that his proper punishment is not death - it's humiliation
• Parvati tells him that this son of Shiva & Mohini - Manikanthan - would be brought up by a king, and therefore a Kshatriya. Parashurama would have to make his statue once his main mission - the killing of Mahishi - is complete - out of that broken tooth of Ganesh. Having to make a statue of a Kshatriya would be his punishment. Vishnu's punishment would be giving birth to that kshatriya 😈😆
• Parashurama accepts that punishment, but begs that Vishnu be spared that humiliation. But Parvati tells him that if she undoes Vishnu's curse, Parashurama wouldn't have to do anything, and so this ruse of his won't work
• Parashurama & Vishnu return sheepishly to Vaikuntha, where they see Lakshmi totally unloading on Indra. Indra begs them to explain, but they tell him to get lost
• Lakshmi tells Parashurama that he reeks of bhang, and asks him to leave w/o any questions. Parashurama asks if he can have a bath in ksheersagar, but Lakshmi says no. Jaya & Vijaya throw him out 😈
• Parvati asks Shiva if Ganesh can get a human head again due to his broken tusks - maybe by getting one of Kartikeya's 6. Kartikeya is more than happy to agree, and so is Shiva, but Ganesh complains that he won't be able to have as many laddoos as he does once that happens. So the elephant head stays
• Everybody then resume the reunion party 🥳
