Happy Maha Shivratri to everyone

May Shivji give everyone lots of blessings, strength,hope and happiness

considering that all of is come from various parts of India,and are of different ages

what did youll do this Shivratri?

This Mahashivratri is very special because after Many years its on a Monday

did any of youll fast,do a pooja?

Jai Shiv Shambhu! A very Happy Maha Shivratri to you as well Shruti and to all on our Forum.

I woke up early to do my pooja, did a home version of Abhishekh, Shivji's arti and stuti and the rest of my prayers. Now at work, I am fasting. I can't do it without anything all day so will be eating fruits mainly and yoghurt etc. At night I shall have "farahar" (don't know what others call this but this is what we call it in Gujarati), i.e. potatoes cooked with only limited spice with just tomatoes, plain crisps:)

It's difficult here in the UK for me as ~I don't have any immediate family in this town and with work as well so unfortunately won't get a chance to go to the temple(:, if I was back home in Kenya (where I'm from) or India (where majority of the family is), it would be so amazing so feeling a bit nostalgic.

Om namah Shivay..I took cold water bath & wore new saree for my work..(I work in our own small Hospital I am a ADMIN..😛) ..all my staffs also wore beautiful sarees😃..& then we had only Phalahar..I mean we are all performing upwaas..I am planning to be awake tonight lets see...what will happen..OM NAMAH SHIVAY..!!😍

well...

i woke up,had a bath-im on Fasting today only Fruit and Milk,and did the Shiva Abhishek at home itself,and then we did Shiv Sahartanaam during the abhishek,a 1008 Shiva name with the Om Namah Shivah Jaap..

In offerings it was of basically of wild fruits like bel,jaamun etc with the regular Bel Patri

we werent able to go to the temple,but the Pooja at home was very nice...specially since you do it youreself

Its my first full on Shivratri Vrat...i.e fasting,earlier my mom never allowed me to do it she didnt think i could manage it,now she did...and trust me,its such a nice good feeling im feeling purified and really good...

i may stay up all night lets see...

Om Namah Shivai...Happy Maha Shivratri to all...so happy to share this here...

I took an holiday from work today...the place where we stay there are no Temples...but offcourse we have our own Mandir at Home...woke up early had hair bath and performed Pooja...wore a saree..., offered milk and fruits to God and then we had the Milk Tirtha...and then later read Lord Shiva's names book and luckily today is Monday too and I read it on Monday's always..then recited Om Namah Shivai 1001 times...phoned Home and spoke to my Loved ones...as we fast today had fruits, sweet potato and sabudana kheer...and feel blessed to watch Devon ka Dev Mahadev episodes today...May Shivji shower His choicest blessings on all of us always...

Well since I have school, I wil do my prayers and abhishekam of Shivling in the evening, but im fasting, hopefully I can make it without taking in water.

back home we do abhishekam of Shivling all day, but being away from home and in school its hard to do that

oh Im wearing a sari today too!

I have a holiday today. Did pooja & abhisheka at home. then did path of Rudra-ashtadhyayi. Am fasting on milk & fruit. But one thing if possible please try to watch on some regional channels, all Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, any surf & check after 11.00pm they show all 12 jyotirlinga live. The best scene is I've seen a year before, is all 12 Jyotirlinga are shown being offered pooja in a single frame, it's an amazing sight. Only Kedarnath's temple is closed so they show the temple. Please see😊

but Life Ok had a special episode of 3 to 4 jyotirlingals,early in the morning...

i manged to see it by luck,i hope they upload the video!

Today i woke up early in tha morning made parsaad did with ma familyand had a shivpooja with a pandiet especially for this important day. I do fast all day and eat only fruits and milk i will be awake all night. Doing some bhajan, jaap, mantra, watching shiv songs and movies or serials. man hi man i will do ma ohm namah shivaya jaap.
