So it's obvious that the channel took some measure to bring back the CVs lost brain. And this decision has nothing to do with the growth of Indian TV.

You guys need to understand one thing first. As far as I understood, this show has NOTHING to do with TRPs, bcoz the entire script was written even before the starting of the show. So the entire Vaani Sahay track was also pre-written. The CVs didn't introduce this track suddenly, it was all pre-planned. And for those who are complaining about the intimate scenes, Pooja said in an interview (even before the starting of the show) that she had done some intimate scenes with Ashish in the show.
And you think TRPs have gone down bcoz of those intimate scenes. Ok, I also agree with that. But when a living lady turns into housefly, TRP becomes very high. When a 18 year old girl marries a 9 year old boy, TRP becomes high. When in a nonsense show like Bigg Boss, contestants abuse each other & fight with each other for no reason, TRP becomes very high. Isn't it strange that people can accept superstition, child marriage, abusing etc but not 1-2 intimate scenes in a sensible suspense thriller show?
And channels' decision is directly related to the growth of Indian TV. In case of foreign shows, the channels can't stop the show or change the storyline bcoz of low TRPs. The channels there give the chance to the shows to run their full course. But here, many times channels abruptly end a show bcoz of low TRPs, even if it's a finite series. Earlier Star Plus abruptly ended two of their finite series Airlines & Gulmohar Grand before they completed their scheduled run, bcoz of low TRPs. Our channels only care about TRPs, they don't care about showing good content. That's why I said that with such mentality, Indian TV can never grow.

Guys just chill the show is not shutting it's completing it's tenure if 26 or I should say 27 episodes & if we go by TC article then there is a possibility of S1 being left on cliffhanger ,& will b back with S2 . For now why there was no episode on Sunday there is still no answer but it has nothing to do with trp for sure . Otherwise the additional 27th episode wouldn't have increased . I am sure makers definitely has more to show other than just catching up with swami there is more to what meets the eyes . Just have patience dev mehek Zora aapa all these character definitely have something more stored .

the writing may not change with trps but trp does decide if a show will sustain or not (s2 come back for eg) since trp for this show constantly going down do you think it has chances of coming back now as opposed to before? I think not, cause it was getting 1.0 trp, now its 0.6. even sony shows gets better so i dont think why colors should invest in another season. their pre written track was a calculated risk which backfired.

not everyone read IVs. So pretty sure it came as a shocked for like 90% janta😆

see if the intimate scenes were something like dev and mehak, in flashback or present day where he day dreams i dont think majority would have any issues. let's face it, none of us prude, also late night timing means they can give us a lot of matured stuff (sex violence gore etc). the issue here for me was sleeping with an enemy, a trope i have seen multiple times in usa shows and always left the viewers sick. did CVs here too wanted us feel disgusted or aroused? also, crime show is one genre we all enjoy with family, unlike a daily soap which is watched by only women or elder women/men. teenagers watch it, parents watch it. now imagine something like that coming on a crime show. how many crime shows you can remember where intimate scenes were shown? I don't remember any. there are different viewers catared for a suraj sanjh or bigboss. They watch it, they like it, nobody else cares.

west shows may not change track in middle cause shooting happens before but they dont bring another season if its going down or rectify that in next season. everyone cares for business, nobody is in the media for charity. one example, netflix produces tons of shows like sense8 stranger things house of cards. sense8 is an amazing show but less viewership so they axed it, just came to know house of cards is also cancelled. in NBC shows based on black lives matter got cancelled, abc cancelled pitch once again amazing show. So content alone dont count, you need viewership to back it up. there are some shows which are sleeper hit, which may not have gotten that good trp when it aired but with time they became cult classic- x files, sarabhai, khichdi. they all came back. again, depends upon content, they were pathbreaking in their time. our contents maybe shit but its not cause our channels are the only money hungry out there. everyone is.

i can't believe i am defending desi tv when i am the one cribbing all the time.

As per most forum members the actress who is playing Mehek is the one because of which trp is gone down she is bad actress and like to show her skin only .so whatever you say they will not agree.as if she is the maker and she is the one who influenced them to put so called intimate scenes.

2ndly Detective cannot love his dead wife he has to only have chemistry with the other paying guest.if dead wife come back to his life he shd not go and search for her he shd only solve cases with his detective partner with some little Nok jhok.

3rdly viewers can watch big boss with parents where in contestants do say wear what ever they want to ...I know even younger teens till 70 years watch that show...even every one can watch all kinds of movies but not a serial where they show 1 minute intimate scene.

4thly everyone is complain day today ghare lu series and name them saas bahu but expect detective serials to be like that also.saree clad ,festival dance kitchen children matters.
So no one likes good shows actually.

Ya forgot to mention people named the show chhadti jawani and even accused that the actor who plays dev wanted to show his body hence did the love making scene.someone suggested that they could have shown under a shower...then complained of yoga scene where they were expecting the lead to wear saree I guess with full back dress as backless was also issue.

Hence the trp is going low .

I am really sad for the show and feeling bad.

I'm surprised that people think that TRP is not important for Indian TV. Many wonderful shows were cancelled mercilessly due to poor TRP. And compared to those shows, the current track of Dev is bakwas. Majority of Indian TV viewers like drama and subtle romance. And these bold scenes become a problem when you watch something with small children around. That's one reason most of the shows keep this bold scenes limited to just one episode or so.
I keep a pretty open mind about bold content on shows and movies. But the problem with Dev is that the scene came across as desperate and gross. Otherwise, which person in their right mind will go ahead and have sex right after burning a body. That scene was also shot so tastelessly.
Most of the finite shows have a prewritten script but they always modify it according to the TRP and viewership. Now, I have no idea why the Dev creatives didn't take any measure to increase the TRP. Someone mentioned that they introduced Mehek's track because Pooja is good looking and her pretty face will garner TRP. I was ROFL reading that comment. Either that person is too naive or just desperate to support their favourite. Indian audience don't give two hoots about a pretty face. All they care about is drama. Otherwise most of the shows would have been a hit.
And finally, nobody here said that Pooja is interested in skin show. All they said is that the character Mehek shows too much skin. And that really come across as vulgar. You don't have to flaunt your body to look sexy. And according to my opinion Pooja can't act compared to the rest of the cast who are just fabulous. Even the guy who plays Damble acts much better than Pooja (this is solely my opinion).

yeah thats true..like few of them said, i too keep a open mind for such intimate scenes. If you see english serials and films they show very abruptly and tastelessly. But atleast indian tv and films show a little decent, of course there are some certificates for different films but family viewers will not go into that however. So thats not an issue, the thing is as she said after burning a body, how can someone be intimate?
Also my point is only mehek knows dev here as per the show, but dev is still not sure that either she is vani or mehek, even with 90% sure that with his evidence that she is mehek, there can be chances that she can be vani too na? then how can dev get intimate with her at this stage? maybe once after she confronted everything when he hugs her finally then after that they could have shown that scene. also about the taste of that scene, it is not that good an intimate scene. No romance at all.. ashish is such a good actor, in his other shows even without make out scenes, he managed to show the romance easily and thats what i like abt him. but i dont know why they cant create that magic here..anyways looking forward to dev next week

After long time I've come across an Indian show tht's worth discussing. Will still maintain tht TRP won't affect S2 since Colors hav Seasons for every xyz show. Also, 1 scene which is nothin compared to wat ppl usually see on TV n movies cannot drastically affect viewership. I blame Mr. Sahay..he ate up the screen time n so far I don't see him fitting the chakarvyuh (no offence to Rajesh). Lets wait for remaining episodes esp tht extra one, hopefully it's 1hr plus #wishful thinking 😃

I found this in the press release article:

Dev: Most-wanted Detective or Most-wanted Criminal places detective Dev Burman in the middle of emotional upheavals and covert circumstances. Fighting inner-demons borne out of his wife Mahek's (Puja Banerjee) untimely demise, Dev is living as a recluse with a cat Madhubala whom his wife had rescued from under his car. He works closely with Inspector Narvekar (Amit Dolawat) who is convinced that Dev is the mastermind behind his wife's death. As he struggles to return to normalcy, Dev fosters a strong bond with his landlady Zohra Aapa (Joyshree Arora) as she cares for him, almost like a mother. But, it is his encounter with fiery Meera Banerjee (Sumona Chakravarti) which forces him to look at life anew, exploring many untapped emotions; their push and pull antagonism making for appealing entertainment avenues.

@bold- God knows what emotions they are talking about. They had such huge potential with this couple and yet they wasted it all. Now I really want S2 just for Dev-Meera.
