You guys need to understand one thing first. As far as I understood, this show has NOTHING to do with TRPs, bcoz the entire script was written even before the starting of the show. So the entire Vaani Sahay track was also pre-written. The CVs didn't introduce this track suddenly, it was all pre-planned. And for those who are complaining about the intimate scenes, Pooja said in an interview (even before the starting of the show) that she had done some intimate scenes with Ashish in the show.
And you think TRPs have gone down bcoz of those intimate scenes. Ok, I also agree with that. But when a living lady turns into housefly, TRP becomes very high. When a 18 year old girl marries a 9 year old boy, TRP becomes high. When in a nonsense show like Bigg Boss, contestants abuse each other & fight with each other for no reason, TRP becomes very high. Isn't it strange that people can accept superstition, child marriage, abusing etc but not 1-2 intimate scenes in a sensible suspense thriller show?
And channels' decision is directly related to the growth of Indian TV. In case of foreign shows, the channels can't stop the show or change the storyline bcoz of low TRPs. The channels there give the chance to the shows to run their full course. But here, many times channels abruptly end a show bcoz of low TRPs, even if it's a finite series. Earlier Star Plus abruptly ended two of their finite series Airlines & Gulmohar Grand before they completed their scheduled run, bcoz of low TRPs. Our channels only care about TRPs, they don't care about showing good content. That's why I said that with such mentality, Indian TV can never grow.
the writing may not change with trps but trp does decide if a show will sustain or not (s2 come back for eg) since trp for this show constantly going down do you think it has chances of coming back now as opposed to before? I think not, cause it was getting 1.0 trp, now its 0.6. even sony shows gets better so i dont think why colors should invest in another season. their pre written track was a calculated risk which backfired.
not everyone read IVs. So pretty sure it came as a shocked for like 90% janta😆
see if the intimate scenes were something like dev and mehak, in flashback or present day where he day dreams i dont think majority would have any issues. let's face it, none of us prude, also late night timing means they can give us a lot of matured stuff (sex violence gore etc). the issue here for me was sleeping with an enemy, a trope i have seen multiple times in usa shows and always left the viewers sick. did CVs here too wanted us feel disgusted or aroused? also, crime show is one genre we all enjoy with family, unlike a daily soap which is watched by only women or elder women/men. teenagers watch it, parents watch it. now imagine something like that coming on a crime show. how many crime shows you can remember where intimate scenes were shown? I don't remember any. there are different viewers catared for a suraj sanjh or bigboss. They watch it, they like it, nobody else cares.
west shows may not change track in middle cause shooting happens before but they dont bring another season if its going down or rectify that in next season. everyone cares for business, nobody is in the media for charity. one example, netflix produces tons of shows like sense8 stranger things house of cards. sense8 is an amazing show but less viewership so they axed it, just came to know house of cards is also cancelled. in NBC shows based on black lives matter got cancelled, abc cancelled pitch once again amazing show. So content alone dont count, you need viewership to back it up. there are some shows which are sleeper hit, which may not have gotten that good trp when it aired but with time they became cult classic- x files, sarabhai, khichdi. they all came back. again, depends upon content, they were pathbreaking in their time. our contents maybe shit but its not cause our channels are the only money hungry out there. everyone is.
i can't believe i am defending desi tv when i am the one cribbing all the time.
