The driver did an about turn and started on the short cut shown by the villager. It was a mud road filled by sharp rocks and soon the tyres got punctured. There wasn't a repair shop in sight. (Even if there was one Agastya wouldn't let a 'down market mechanic' touch his precious car.) It was six 'o' clock in the evening. He has no choice but to locate the House on foot. He went a little ahead with a grouchy expression on his face. People were staring at him. His phone wouldn't work because he forgot to charge it. Agastya stopped a woman who was carrying a small kid on her waist. He held her hand and asked in a heavy English accent "suno, yeh Nanhi pari Ranch kidhar padega?". The woman was greatly offended. Firstly the man didn't belong to their village, a total stranger. And he dares to touch her hand in bhara bazar!! Haye tauba! He deserves to be taught a lesson she thought. She bellowed so loudly that soon many villagers gathered including the offended womans hubby. He held Agastya by collar and landed a blow on his face. Agastya was so bewildered for a moment he didn't know what was happening. Then he gathered his senses and hit the man back. The villagers were many in number and Agastya was all alone. A simple misunderstanding soon turned into a full fledged fight and they beat up Agastya black and blue.

Manyata felt like someone had drained all the blood from her body seeing Mona maasi. Why is god so cruel? Didn't she deserve a few moments of happiness atleast? Why oh why? From the moment she had seen Mona maasi's angry face in the doorway, Manyata's mind was filled with fear. Fear of unknown. Like some kind of premonition of upcoming danger. Only way to stay away from the reality, even if for a few moments, was her room and her moms diary.
Manyata locked herself in her room and opened the diary. The next update was on 15th February 1991...not updated for so long. She wondered why? May be her mom was too busy with her wedding. Komal had written
"Diary, im sorry,
Sorry I neglected you for so long, Im in a very bad mood since yesterday,hell couldn't enjoy my own wedding.. Why is it that Mona has to play a spoil sport at every point in my life, she brought a fake wedding certificate in the name of Giriraj and some random woman...that too on the day of our wedding, this was the limit!! After verifying that it was fake, dad threw her out of the house. But im still angry'why is my little sister so unhappy with my happiness?"
Manyata couldn't believe what she had read just now. If this was true, she had been lied to since childhood. According to Mona, her parents did have a love marriage but frequent quarreles led them to separate. By now Manyata had guessed that Mona maasi had a strong hand separating her parents. She tried to sleep closing her eyes and thinking about the few moments she and Uday had spent together.

A deathly silence filled the house since Mona had arrived. Her quota of admonishing Manyata wasn't yet over but she was 'tired' and her 'old bones' needed rest. So she retired to her room still grumbling.

Uday was very disturbed by what had just taken place. So he decided to take a walk in the village to refresh his tired mind. He felt so angry at Mona maasi for the way she behaved with Manyata. His heart had broken into pieces watching her cry. Mona maasi had a rotten timing. She had ruined a perfect family moment. If it weren't for the fact Mona was a woman he would have broken her two teeth and thrown her out for her misbehavior. He had reached the village now and saw a fight taking place there. Uday went to check what was wrong. The villagers were standing in a circle around a man who was dressed in expensive clothes. His face and clothes were covered in grime and he was bleeding from the mouth. Uday asked the villagers "yeh kya chal raha hai yahaan? Kya kiya iss aadmi ne?"
Someone replied "Uday bhayya, is aadmi ne gaon ki ek aurat ko cheda, isilye hum sabne milkar iska yeh haal banaya"
Now Uday's own anger took over. He was about to punch the man, Agastya said in English "spare me, I didn't do anything, I was just looking for an address, these people'" Hearing his accent and knowing the nature of villagers, Uday some how believed him. The stranger couldn't be left alone like this when he was injured. He pacified the villagers and invited the man to his own house for a clean up and a night's stay. Agastya agreed to go with Uday.
"So what brings you here? You don't look like you belong here," Uday asked him after few minutes when they were on their way home.
"Main yahaan apni fiancee ko manane aaya hoon, waise toh woh bohot pyaar karti hai mujhse, par is waqt rooth gayi hai, I've come to take her back.." Agastya replied.
"Good luck dude, by the way Hi, im Uday, and you?" Uday said.
"Dhariwal, Agastya Dhariwal, mera naam toh suna hi hoga tumne, im the owner of 'Dhariwal group of companies'. India ki number one companies me se ek'" Agastya said.

Uday was so put off by the 'i-me-myself' attitude of Agastya. He didn't even bother thanking Uday for saving his life. Agastya was going on and on about how many companies he owned and how rich he was. Atlast they reached home and Uday had a sigh of relief. The pompus guy was here only for tonight and tomorrow he would leave.
In the darkness of the night Agastya failed to notice the big sign board of 'Nanhi pari ranch', the very place he was looking for.

Anindita sat in a rocking chair and went through the chain of events that had taken place over last few days. She had done a careful arrangement of carrying out her plan. She had selected the hitman with careful precision so that even if plan fails, her name wouldn't figure in accused list. But the dumb guy couldn't even instill an element of fear in her victim, let alone finishing him off. So she has to take the matter in her own hands.

Anindita thought about the innocent days of school and college and felt moisture in her eyes. She hated that. She wasn't any woman; she was Aninditha, daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country and sister of a very successful entrepreneur. But she was ready to leave all that for a man she had loved. But..but he had refused. Uday and Aninditha were classmates in school and college and she fell in love with Uday while in college. But Uday wouldn't even look at her. She thought proposing him in front of a big crowd would solve her problem and had done just that. But the opposite happened and when Uday politely refused her infront of everyone, her high society friends laughed behind her back. She had never felt so insulted in her life. And so what if Uday couldn't be hers, she wouldn't let him be any other woman's. She would kill him and that would satiate her revenge.
How dare he refuse her'he would have to pay with his life.

Manyata heard a knock on the door and asked "koun hai?"'Thinking if Mona maasi had come to finish some unfinished business with her. But it was Uday; she closed the door after him, just in case and asked "bolo kya kaam tha?"
Uday was quick enough to spot the diary that Manyata had forgotten to hide today. Alas! What would she do now? She tried to hide it by sitting on it; but Uday wouldn't let her change the topic.
"Manyata, dikhao kya chupa rahi ho?" Uday said.
"kuch nahi Uday, woh bas aise hi'tum baitho khade kyon ho?" she tried her best to divert him but he wouldn't listen.
"Manyata, tum abhi mujhe dikhati ho ya main Daima ko bulaoon?" Uday threatened her.
This was the guy she was in love with and one shouldn't hide anything from the people they loved. So she handed him the diary and over a span of half an hour told him about what she had read in the diary so far. She also told him the fear that had crept up in her mind when she saw Mona maasi. Uday too was surprised hearing all this. From the first look he had suspected Mona to be a cold, cruel woman and his guess was right. He assured her everything would be alright and she leaned on to his shoulder for a cry. By now Manyata was a little comfortable with him physically. He held her hands in his own and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Too tired from the emotional drama, Manyata fell asleep within minutes over his shoulder, still in sitting position.
Uday eased her gently on to the bed and corrected her position slowly so that she wouldn't wake up. As he drew the comforter over her, he saw the dark circles under her eyes. Her eyes! His precious girl' His, first, last and one n only love. His Manyata! Since the day she had saved him from the bullet, she had become a part of his life, though he realized it lately. Over the few beautiful moments they had together, she had slowly, gradually made her place in his heart, which no woman was able to make till now. Her eyes became big pool of tears when she cried. He would knock the breath out of anyone who caused those pearls to flow out. There was still a stray tear under her left eye and Uday touched it with his index finger. He made up his mind to convey her, his real feelings very soon. Something told him she would accept. He leaned over the bed and kissed her forehead very gently as to not to disturb her unnecessarily.
While closing the door of her room, he remembered he had come to talk to Manyata about their guest. No problem, let her sleep in peace..Uday thought and went over to his own room.

The next morning Manyata's mind screamed out of happiness. He kissed me! That means he loves me! Yes! Yes!.., 'no silly it was just a kiss on forehead, albeit a friendly one' the other mind told her. She wasn't fully asleep when he had laid her on bed last night. Just too tired to open her eyes. Her mind full of Udays thoughts she got dressed and came down to breakfast, unaware of the peril that awaited her at the dining table.
3 people were seated at the dining table when Manyata came. "yeh teesra aadmi koun hai?" thought Manyata. His back was towards her. Mona saw her and said "Manyata, you are late..waqt dekha hai? subah ke 7.30..yeh koi time hai jaagne ka?"
Agastya turned his face at the mention of 'Manyata'. Manyata froze in her tracks like she had sighted a ghost'no! This couldn't be happening! Perhaps her nightmare was still going on. "Manyata, what a surprise, seeing you here!" Agastya exclaimed.
"Tum dono jaante ho ek dusre ko?" Uday asked Manyata.
"Woh..woh-" Manyata's sentence was cut off when Mona said " Agastya, Manyata ka fiance hai, Manyata ne zaroor tum logon ko bataya nahi hoga apni sagai ke baare me, bohot sharmili hai yeh"
